01 | INTO THE EARTH Technical Vignettes

This project is part of a vertical building design studio divided into two parts: Part A (individual work) and Part B (collective work). The primary goal of the studio for part A is to study and produce detailed material and structural characteristics of architectural elements (foundation, wall, floor, roof, opening, etc) – connected to different types of construction systems and then combine the technical details and construction systems from Part A to address in Part B programmatic/site constraints in the design of an addition to the SDSU Agricultural Heritage Museum. The addition of the Agricultural Heritage Museum is primarily made of rammed earth walls, created partly, from dirt excavated from the site. Creating an experience that emphasizes moving into the earth is achieved using windows that bring in light from above. A large ramp that brings one down into the earth is encased with rammed earth walls on all sides.

02 | THE FIVE SENSES Urben Context

This architectural studio focuses on designing a supra-region-al shopping mall that serves a trade area with a radius of 25 km serving the population of Khartoum State in Sudan. The design concept combines Nelson (1958) retail agglomerations effects and the cumulative customers attraction through touching, smelling, looking, hearing or tasting. The department stores are located at the edges of the mall throughout the floors acting as a magnet for customers. Further-more, the sensory retail area features the stimulus of the five senses through greenery, cafes, games and sports, advertising and waterfalls for the customers to practice the unique shopping experience.

03| BETWEEN THE LIGHT Urben Context

The aim of this architectural studio is to design a college of archi-tecture. The concept is that the natural light openings surround-ing the building masses act as variable width line. The sizes of the openings differ as related to the need of the space area to the light. The entrance of natural light into the space provides the mental and visual stimulation affecting the mood of the students during their work at the design studios rendering them more pro-ductive and creative.

04| LUXURY VILLA Side Rendering

This is a teamwork project at Central Trading Company Limited (CTC group). My role was to design the corridor that links the rooms of the first floor. The concept is to provide a hidden stor-age area with the minimalist interior design. The material used was wood with different contrast colors assembled give the min-imalist sense.
