Flat Typologies

The residential floor plate was designed to keep in mind all the different kinds of residents ranging from students, couples, and nuclear families. Each of these types has their own kind of space usage which is reflected in the different type of dwelling unit. The design also welcomes Work from Home style and incorporates a common co-working area in the building itself. This space is only for the building residents to enjoy.

Structural Layout

As per scope of the work, we also delivered 4D video simulation in Navisworks and Project Trailer animation. Multiple HVAC ,Structural, Architectural,MEP schedules and area plans were derived to develop the estimation and project timeline. Clash detection was on in Navisworks while management in BIM Track and MS Excel. The entire BIM Workflow took place via BIM360.

Softwares Used: Revit, Navisworks, BIM 260,

• Organisation of sets based on Levels and building elements in the project for ease of clash detection between different disciplines like Architecture, Structural, MEP.

• Set organisation and management is crucial for an efficient process workflow.

• Easier to group and filter in a small project, for more complex project we shifted to BIM Track.

Project fabricated Clash Tracker

• Custom made clash tracker was developed in Excel to graphically illustrate the project progress, each discipline wise.

• This was also a great documentation tool that enabled us to assess how much time was utilized in this project and by which discipline.

• Understating this helps in analysis of time and resources for more similar projects in the

Quantification & Takeoff

• Basic quantification and estimation based on UNIFORMAT

• The extracted estimation is based on the accuracy and detail of the Revit model.

• This level of initial take off can help develop realistic project material budget and schedule.

• This workflow enabled us to model accurately in Revit with an eye for detail from the get go.

Clash Detection with BIM Track

• Using BIM track to manage, assess and coordinate clashes of a more complex project like that of a residential building in this case.

• Better communication, accurate results, efficient since each clash was assigned to one individual responsible for it and that eliminated multiple communication threads.

• As an acting BIM Manager in this project, my main role was to manage all discipline and their clash reports and progress each week.
