Design Responsibility: Urban Rejuvenation for Le Corbusier's Chandigarh
Aalyang Architects
'Aalyang is a sanskrit word referring to one of the ten kalpvriksha [wish fulfilling divine trees]. As per the jain cosmology, kalpavriksha provided for all basic needs of the people and 'aalyang' [derived from the word aalya] provided habitats.
Aalyang architects is a practice that aims to follow a jain way of building architecture. The philosophy of the practice is based on the three principles of Jainismanekantavad [non absolutism], ahimsa [non violence], and aparigraha [asceticism].'
Design Responsibility: Play in Architecture
My part was in the design development phase; to play with the light, circulation, and form; to experiment with the design elements; and examine the harmony between the elements; all under the guidance of principal architects.
