WELCOME TO THE BUDDY CLUB
FEBRUARY ACTIVITIES
What the Buddy Club means to me by Randi Posten: I love spending time with my old friends and being able to make new friends because "one is silver and the other is gold". The activities are fun. I love the parties, sharing my life with my friends, talking, playing games, watching movies and playing ping pong.

WHAT IS THE BUDDY CLUB: This program is designed to meet the needs of individuals with developmental/cognitive disabilities. Join us for arts, crafts, fitness, movies, computers & video games. Access our Wellness Center, enjoy our pool or take a walk in the park! We meet every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10am-2:30pm. Only $2 Drop in fee required or just $20 per month.
NEW BUDDIES BUDDY NEWS The Buddy Club is excited to offer "Tuesday Topics" in conjunction with the Northern Virginia Community College Nurse Managed Clinic. The nursing students will do health and wellness presentations for us. If you have a specific topic you are interested in please let us know. Our first talk was on the food plate and how to make healthy food choices. A great big Buddy thank you to Amanda Brooks, their instructor, and to our first presenters Edward Afroilan and Anjelica Bueno. Great job!
We have new buddies! Let’s make sure we give a warm welcome to our new buddies: David, Ronnie and Mychal! We are all so excited to have you apart of our club and look forward to making great memories! The Buddy Club welcomes new participants and volunteers. If you would like to help others and meet some wonderful people at the same time please check us out!

MORE BUDDY NEWS
BUDDY OF THE MONTH
A great big Buddy Thank You to Ledo's Pizza (Liberia Ave.) for donating pizza for our New Years' Eve party. We had a great party with hats, sparkling cider and of course, yummy pizza!
Randi is a loving and gentle person who helps those who are less fortunate. She is the one who came up with the idea of finding a place for folks with special needs to get together. She talked with Catherine after last years Take Two Variety show and now we have this awesome club.
The Buddies were thrilled to participate in this month’s science activity when they got to make a volcano erupt into all different colors. Thanks to Randi's Dad, Randall, for this fun activity. The Buddies are looking forward to more experiments.
Randi resides in Manassas with her mother and father. She has a brother and sister who live in West Viriginia and has many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a special PaPa and MaMa Ada.
The first Buddy Bites cooking class was a huge success and everyone enjoyed the fruit smoothies. The Buddy Club wishes to thank our most generous donors, Carl & Brenda Willis Ford for their monetary donation. The funds will be put to good use and is very much appreciated. Weather Closing: If the schools are closed in either Manassas Park, Manassas City or Prince William County the Buddy Club will not meet.
Randi is a very talented and creative dancer who's got rhythm and "all the moves"! She volunteers at Prince William Hospital in the gift shop, has been an employee at Panera Bread for 4 1/2 years, is a member of Lion's club and the Take One Drama Group. She also participates in both the ARC and Special Olympics bowling leagues. She won the Silver medal at the State Special Olympics Fall tournament that was held in Virginia Beach and is very proud that she went "all by herself" without her parents. Thank you Randi for everything you do for the Buddy Club!
