CAMP SAFETY

AQUATICS

MPCC is committed to providing its youth the opportunity to get out and get active this summer through our summer camp program. While camps will be different in several ways, many of the fun activities kids are used to experiencing, such as centers, arts and crafts, gym and outdoor time, will remain. Redesigned activities use physical distancing to foster a healthy environment. Your child will need breakfast, lunch, and two snacks each day. Please also send them with a water bottle. Sessions are limited to 15 participants. The health and safety of our patrons and staff are our top-priority. Since reopening, MPCC has modified and enhanced our cleaning procedures to make sure that we are providing the safest and healthiest facility possible for campers.

• Starting June 15th, the hot tub should be able to reopen per the Governor’s orders. • The children’s slide is now available. • Masks are required on the pool deck and in the locker rooms, immediately up until a patron enters the water/shower or begins exercise. Exceptions will only be made for: • Patrons under 5 years old • Patrons with medical conditions which prohibit mask wearing. • During normal lap swim times, several lap lanes will be available. • Patrons should still lane-share, but are encouraged to restrict lane use to 3 people or less per lane (not of the same household). • Some equipment may not be provided.

• Smaller group sizes will be implemented in accordance with CDC guidelines. Staff to camper ratio will be 1:9. • Children will only be with their group throughout each day of camp. • Campers must practice social distancing. • Face coverings are required. Campers must wear their own face covering/mask during camp. Mask may be removed during strenuous activities (ex. athletic games). • Campers must attend camp in good health. If any symptoms are present, the child will be isolated and a parent will be called to take them home. • Campers must bring their own snacks, breakfast, lunch, and water bottle. • Field trips will not be offered.

MEMBERSHIPS • All memberships will reactivate on July 1, 2021, or the day in the month your membership was normally drafted. • We will allow members to cancel, without penalty. If you want to delay the restart of your membership, please cancel your membership and sign up for a new one when you are ready to come restart. • If you want to remove someone from your current membership or downgrade your membership, please cancel your membership and purchase a new membership. • The deadline to cancel your membership is close of business on June 25, 2021. • If you would like to cancel your membership, please email Customer Service Supervisor, Amelia Powell, at a.powell@ manassasparkva.gov

CUSTOMER SERVICE • Practice social distancing when you enter the building. • Hand sanitizing station throughout the building. • Mask worn at all times by staff and patrons. • Call ahead to check capacity for pool, fitness areas, and gymnasium. • There will be minimal seating available in facility; congregation between patrons is not encouraged.

2

FREE SWIM • Free swim participants should socially distance with other households, remain in the open designated areas, and avoid using large or absorptive flotation devices.

RECREATION SERVICES (KIDS KORNER, GYMNASIUM, TEENS) • Smaller class sizes. • No sharing of supplies/equipment. Each child will be provided with their own bag of supplies. • All sports balls and equipment rented through MPCC will be sanitized each time they are used and are returned. • All staff will be required to wear face masks and will be encouraged to social distance. • Teen Center has removed all couches and have set chairs and tables up 6ft. apart. • Kids Korner will not be offered in the mornings. • All spaces and surfaces will be sanitized frequently. • Please call the front desk or check the website for gymnasium availability.

WELLNESS CENTER • Face masks are required in the facility by all users (staff and patrons) over 5. Exemptions are in place only for those actively engaged in exercise. • Patrons are required to wipe off equipment before and after use. • Fitness Attendants will make hourly rounds to disinfect the equipment. • Some common cardiovascular units will be taken offline to encourage adequate social distancing between users. • Patrons are asked to monitor their own social distance while using strength equipment. Please be patient and wait until social distancing can be achieved while using each piece of equipment.
