Institutional Distinctiveness-MRIIRS Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) One salient statement in the Vision and Mission of MRIIRS has been to train its students in the backdrop of Indian ethos and values to enable them to be transformed into insightful, honorable and responsible citizens of our great country and also to create human beings who work and dedicate themselves for the advancement of humanity. In consonance with this, MRIIRS right since its inception has striven to engage its students and faculty in Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR). In the Faridabad District and adjoining areas, MRIIRS has rendered extension service to the community which has brought about seminal changes on many fronts. Recognizing pluralistic culture, kaleidoscopic societal norms, abounding diversity, varying lifestyles and work ethos, deep chasm between living conditions and earning capacity of people, our students and faculty have relentlessly engaged in ameliorating the plight of deprived sections of society on its own as well as in collaboration with governmental and local administration bodies. MRIIRS has steadfastly participated in synergy with Dr O P Bhalla Foundation, whose objectives are to carry forward philanthropic and development activities in various fields like education, sustainable development, environment protection, women empowerment and gender equality, health and wellbeing, geriatric health care, empowering weaker sections of society and reviving our rich cultural heritage. Students, faculty and staff of MRIIRS have been dedicated to improve the quality of life of people and serve this great nation and the world through inclusive growth and development of society and conserving its diversity. The principal purpose of the Foundation is to work as the ISR arm of Manav Rachna International Institute of Research & Studies. One of the main initiatives of these endeavours has been projects of adoption of five Villages namely Maujpur, Hirapur, Nariyala, Chhainssa, Panhera Khurd of Faridabad district for taking initiatives in upgrading of school facilities, providing health checkup facilities, starting a Vocational Center for imparting Computer education and spoken English facilities, mega plantation drive in the Village, sensitizing the Villages about hygiene and cleanliness and helping District Administration in making these Villages Open Defecation Free. Health Camps comprising dental and physiotherapy services / Blood Donation Camps are regular features. Through Mega Blood Donation Camps, around 6500 units of blood have been collected during recent years. Women Empowerment related activities are again one of our primary features. A good number of elderly, students, working women, housewives etc mostly suffering from anxiety, fear and depression were taken care of through online counselling. The University has been in the vanguard of societal accretion of the Faridabad district through its very popular Community Radio (Granted by the Govt of India) programmes which cater to the domain of educational, spiritual, entertainment, cultural, women empowerment, environment, health, hygienic living, career counseling, eradication of vices amongst youth for general public. The University has collaborated with various other NGOs which are similarly connected with a number of welfare projects. It has collaborated with Sparklife for literacy project for slum children, Sheows for adopting Old Inmates, Voice of Voiceless for helping Animal Shelter Project, Akriti Fondation for providing assistance for mentally retarded inmates. An MOU has been signed with Feeding India for providing cooked food/raw grains to needy people. Ek Mutthi Daan ensures that nobody sleeps hungry. Under this initiative around 50,000 kg of wheat, rice, grains and cereals have already been collected and donated to Orphanages, Old Age Homes , Animal Shelters and to District Administration (for supporting Migrant Labourers during Covid).
