All syllabi are approved by the Academic Council of the University. Composition of the Board of Management, Academic Council & Board of Studies of Manav Rachna University is attached as Annexure-3.1(A), 3.1(B), 3.1 (C)

MRU was established in August 2014 and the first batch was admitted from Academic Session beginning 2015. Respective Board of Studies of the departments has the flexibility to make minor changes in the syllabi as and when the need is felt. However, an yearly review is done to assess the efficacy of course material and to introduce new electives depending on the expertise of the Faculty members added to University Faculty list.

Yes, the approvals of Statutory Bodies of the University are taken. As a state private University, MRU has to seek permission/ NOC from State Government for starting of any new programme. After the State Government NOC the application is submitted to the respective regulatory Bodies. Though the formal Academic Audit system is in the process of development, the University through IQAC and various other committees conducts periodic reviews of following academic processes:

A) Course Plan review (IQAC) --Once in a Semester B) Internal Academic Review (IQAC) Twice a semester C) Student feedback (Feedback Committee) --Twice in a Semester D) Attendance review (Attendance review committee) –Thrice in a Semester A. Course plan review is done once in a semester, before the beginning of classes by IQAC teams or by departmental review committees. The course plans are reviewed. Course Plans include


1. Well defined course outcomes are defined clearly to address the program outcomes. 2. A well defined Course plan which includes mapping of Laboratory and Tutorial objectives to achieve the stated course outcomes and the relevant Blooms Taxonomy level. 3. A well defined course assessment plan to achieve the stated course outcomes. 4. Teaching pedagogies like active learning, Collaborative learning, and problem based learning are incorporated in the mode of delivery. 5. CO, PO articulation matrix. B. The Internal Academic Review The Internal Academic review is conducted by IQAC audit teams twice a semester. The process flow is as follows 1. The departments are asked to submit quarterly reports of activities conducted as per academic quality assurance criteria listed by NAAC. 2. Quarterly AQAR activity reports are analyzed by IQAC and thus a feedback analysis is shared with respective departments. 3. Half year academic audit and annual academic audits are conducted for all the seven criteria where the departments are supposed to produce all the supporting documents. 4. The departments are asked to propose the action plans after every audit as per audit feedbacks. 5. Internal Academic review also involves review of course files. Randomly chosen subjects are reviewed for the detailed review of course files which includes course plan, tutorials, assignments, evaluation and analysis for weak and strong students, pedagogy and various other parameters. C The student course feedback system includes formative and summative feedback for each course being taught in that semester. This is conducted by the feedback committee. Thus, the feedback is taken twice in a semester. 1. The feedback format of each course ensures that the syllabus coverage, delivery of course material, planning for the course delivery, innovative teaching methodology etc are covered. 2. The formative feedback is taken from all the students for every course being taught, 3-4 weeks after the commencement of classes. This feedback is shared with the respective faculty members. 3. The summative feedback is taken from the students who meet minimum attendance criteria, towards the end of the semester. This feedback also assesses the course outcomes and achievements of course objectives. 4. Student satisfaction survey for generic facilities and curriculum is also conducted. D. Attendance review of students is done by the attendance review committee thrice a semester. 1. The faculty members teaching individual courses are required to update the attendance everyday on ERP. 2. The strength of students present in each class is monitored on daily basis. 3. The cumulative attendance of students is checked thrice a semester one week before the start of sessional exams (T1 & T2) and the final exam. 4. The students, who do not meet the minimum attendance criteria, are warned by sending the information telephonically to the parents.

Apart from classroom instruction, what are the other avenues of learning provided for the Students? (Example: Projects, Internships, Field Trainings, Seminars, etc.)

Apart from the regular conventional Lecture, Tutorial and Practical (L-T-P) structure of Courses MRU has introduced a new component called Outcome component (O). This component is specifically introduced in course/courses to strengthen particular programme outcomes which are not getting demonstrated through the regular L-T-P structure. It provides flexibility to faculty members to create different learning environments which can vary from term paper writings, seminars, presentations, field visits to project based learning. University has mandatory summer training modules which are aimed at enhancing of hard and soft skills of the graduates. Departments in their wisdom can conduct these modules during summer breaks or extend them over the semesters for achievement of specific objectives of enhanced skills in a particular area. The University system creates a lot of flexibility for programme leaders and faculty course coordinators to identify the learning needs and accordingly define the course structures or introduce new learning modules.
