A SOULFUL HOMAGE AND TRIBUTE TO THE LEGENDARY DR. O.P BHALLA

Workshop on PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) 3rd April 2017 DURATION: 9:00AM till 3:30PM OBJECTIVES: Themain objective of this workshop is to make the aspiring Engineers acquainted with the conceptual as well as practical knowledge of the Industrial Automation & latest technologies being used to achieve Industrial Automation. The idea of organizing this workshop is to inculcate the fundamentals of Automation in the students/Faculty and provide them with a platform to work on, in the near future. The most guiding force behind an automated industrial plant is Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) along with other necessary ingredients like sensors, motors, actuators, conveyers,SCADA systems and many more. Pre-requisite: Basic Knowledge of Control System

COURSE CONTENTS: - This workshop aims to include the following:  Presentation on Recent Trends in Industrial Automation & PLC.  PLC Inputs/Outputs, Burning & Interfacing Concepts.  Hands on PLC Training Kit Programme Venue : AF-25 , FACTORY AUTOMATION LAB COURSE OUTCOMES On completion of this module, the learner will be able to:  Explain the operation of a PLC, how inputs and outputs are connected to it, how a program is executed inside it and how information can be taken from it.  List a number of analogue instruments and explain how they are connected to a PLC.  Develop a block diagram for closed loop control and explain the function of each block.  Edit a PLC program operating on several inputs and outputs; download the program to the PLC and test its operation.  Develop a block diagram for an instrumentation system and re-range a raw value into engineering units.  Differentiate between open loop and closed loop control.  List the controlled devices used in industry and briefly explain how these work. Certificate will be given to all participants At the end of this workshop, a small competition will be organized among the participating students and winners will be awarded.
