Peoples United Artists’ Commissions 2014 Wonder With the support of our partners and funders: the Arts Council, Manchester Museum, Lunsford Primary School and Artswork, we are pleased to launch our second year of artists’ commissions to continue to help us explore the role the arts can play in developing a more caring society. Based in Manchester, the commission will focus on the themes of ‘wonder’. This is informed by our research paper Arts and Kindness that explores how the arts might sow the seeds for kindness to grow, and develop our learning about the potential of the arts to inspire positive social change. We are looking for an artist who wants to broaden and develop themselves as artists, and who enjoy learning from other disciplines in order to inform and influence their practice. Once again, artists will be supported, connected with wider conversations across disciplines, and feel part of a community of practice. We will offer the artists the flexibility to develop their own ideas within a wider framework. The deadline for applications is Monday 10 February at 5pm.
