New galleries
w open Living Worlds No If you think nature is something far away, think again - we are nature. Living Worlds explores the connections between all living things, including us, and shows how we can all shape the future by the choices we make. Ancient Egypt & Archaeology Closed from 4 Jul 2011 This is so we can create our new Ancient Worlds galleries: Discovering Archaeology, Egyptian World and Exploring Objects. These will open in late 2012, 100 years after the Museum’s first Egypt gallery opened. In the meantime, you can see some of our Egyptology collection on display in our Unearthed: Ancient Egypt exhibition, 30 Sep 20116 Sep 2012.

Sat 3 Dec All that remains: reconstructing life and death in ancient Egypt and Nubia A concentrated day of expert speakers and discussion around new research into the Royal Mummies of Egypt and the history of disease in Egypt and Nubia. With a practical session looking at how to study ancient skeletal remains and identify age, sex and whether a person suffered from a disease.
