Unearthed: Ancient Egypt Until 6 Sep 2012 Journey back to the 1920s to our Egyptologist’s storeroom for some archaeological training. Can you help our Egyptologist (played on film by Horrible Histories’ Terry Deary) investigate his finds? We Face Forward: Anansi Stories Until 16 Sep 2012 Anansi is a spider and trickster who stars in stories told in Africa and around the world. great mysteries of nature: how complex shapes and patterns arise from simple balls of cells. Breed: The British & their Dogs 6 Oct 2012-13 Jan 2013 The history of the British Isles and its inhabitants, both human and canine, has long been entwined. Breed will reveal the enduring and affectionate relationship between the British people and their dogs. All Other Things Being Equal 1 Dec 2012-2 Jun 2013 Trees in the Ecuadorian Amazon play a crucial role in the eco-system but, due to economic necessity, are also valued for their timber. Gallery redevelopments Ancient Worlds / Opens autumn 2012 These three new galleries will showcase the best of our outstanding archaeology collections and reveal the people behind the objects. In order to make way for Ancient Worlds, Ancient Egypt is closed and objects have been removed from Archaeology. Unearthed: Ancient Egypt (see above) features many of the removed objects.
