Bancroft Contracting Corporation is a Maine-based self-performing industrial construction company. We work on dams and we build huge fish passages. We work in paper mills and other big industrial plants. Sometimes we build giant foundations and industrial buildings. We build really cool projects all over New England. We’ve been in business since 1977. We pay well and we have a great benefit package. We need heavy construction laborers, form carpenters, and welders for a project in Chittenden VT starting right away. You need to have reliable transportation. You need to be energetic and able to do hard physical work for at least 10 hours a day in all weather conditions. You need to know how to use some basic construction tools. It’s no-go if you have a drug problem, if you have to be in court twice a week, or if you have transportation problems that make you miss work a lot. Pay depends on ability and experience. We’ll be working a lot of overtime this summer. We can use a few people with no construction experience if you can show up every day, work hard, and learn. If you have proven experience in heavy construction so much the better -- we pay top dollar for skilled journey-level craft people. Bancroft Contracting takes good care of its people, and people here work hard to take good care of our company. If this sounds interesting to you call me, Harold Skelton, and we’ll talk. I won’t BS you, and you won’t BS me -- sound about right? I look forward to hearing from you! Call (207) 743-8946.

How to avoid hot weather breakdowns Tires
When the weather warms, many people take to the outdoors to enjoy the sunshine and rising temperatures. Summer road trips or vacations are the norm, but it is important to realize that hot weather can take its toll even on a new, well-maintained vehicle. High temperatures can cause all sorts of damage to a vehicle, from zapping battery power to overtaxing the cooling system. Recognizing potential hot-weather risks and performing routine checks on the vehicle are the keys to keeping vehicles in top form.
Hot weather causes the pressure inside of tires to rise. Overinflated tires can wear down prematurely or result in blowouts. The Car Care Council recommends checking tire pressure routinely in the summer, when tires are cold. Follow the guidelines in the owner's manual for recommended air pressure. Look for improper tread wear, weak spots or other tire damage that may end up causing flats.
Fluid levels Hot weather can put extra demand on all fluids and engine components. Check transmission fluid, power steering fluid, brake fluid, and engine oil levels. Top off or change when necessary.
Battery Excessive heat can shorten the life of a battery because it causes battery fluid to evaporate more quickly. This, in turn, can damage the internal structure of the battery. AAA reports that car battery issues are the most common breakdown calls. It's a good idea to top off a battery with distilled water if it is the kind that requires it. Low-maintenance batteries may not have filler caps and will not require water. Inspect the battery for corrosion and leakage of battery acid. This could be a sign that the battery is getting old and will need to be replaced.
Pack with breakdowns in mind
Cooling system Cooling systems work hard to keep the flow of air to the engine and prevent it from overheating during warm seasons. Compromised cooling fans or lack of coolant can be troublesome. To avoid overheating, check coolant levels before
getting on the road. In addition, have the cooling system checked by a trained mechanic prior to the summer driving season. It's a small price to pay to avoid extensive engine damage from overheating.
Plan ahead for potential summer breakdowns by bringing along water, snacks, sunscreen, and an emergency medical kit. Be sure mobile phones are fully charged and that the number of a tow service or roadside assistance crew is entered into your list of contacts in the event of an emergency. With warm-weather road trips beckoning, it's time to plan accordingly to prevent breakdowns that can derail fun.

CAR CARE MONTHLY
How to cut the cost of auto insurance The cost of auto insurance is contingent on a host of variables. Such factors include the type of vehicle being insured and the driving record of the policy holder. While drivers may feel they have little leeway regarding the cost of their auto insurance, there are several steps motorists of all ages can take to lower their auto insurance premiums. Address your credit score. Policy holders' credit histories is one of the factors insurance companies use when determining the cost of individuals' insurance policies. In a 2015 analysis of data from Consumer Reports, the Insurance Information Institute found that drivers in Florida who had excellent credit scores received insurance quotes that were less than half that of drivers whose scores were considered poor. That's because insurance companies see drivers with poor credit scores as more likely to be in an accident than those with excellent scores. Before shopping for new policies, drivers should take steps to improve their credit scores by paying off their consumer debts and having any discrepancies on their credit reports corrected. Continue your education as a motorist. The III notes that non-driving factors, such as age, are among the variables insurance companies consider when determining the cost of their
automotive policies. While older drivers can't reverse the aging process and younger drivers can't add years to their driving histories overnight, there are ways these drivers can lessen the impact their ages have on the cost of their auto insurance premiums. Advanced defensive driving courses can refresh older drivers' memories with regards to safe driving techniques while also teaching them the latest techniques to stay safe behind the wheel. Younger drivers who take such courses can be taught how to drive in emergency situations in controlled environments. Consumer Reports notes that a 2012 report jointly sponsored by the U.S. government, AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety and Manitoba Public Insurance found that there is no evidence that traditional driver's education classes reduce crashes, highlighting the importance of advanced courses that can prepare older and younger drivers alike for what awaits them on the open road. Taking such classes can save drivers as

much as 10 percent on their auto insurance premiums, and those discounts may even last several years. Adjust your existing policy. Mileage is another factor insurance companies use when pricing their automotive policies. While driving habits change, few drivers think to contact their insurance companies when their habits change in ways that can save them money. If your daily commute is shorter than it was when you initially opened your policy or if you now take public transportation to save money on gas, contact your insurance agent and give a more up-to-date assessment of
your driving habits. Doing so might save you a considerable amount of money each year. Combine your policies. Perhaps the simplest way to save on auto insurance is to combine your auto and home insurance policies. Covering your vehicles and your home via the same provider may save you as much as 15 percent on each policy. Auto insurance is a considerable expense, but drivers can take numerous steps to reduce the costs of their policies.
