PAWLET The Pawlet Public Library will host its 50th annual two-day book sale at the Mettawee Community School on Saturday, July 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale will feature books, DVDs, CDs, videos, puzzles, games, toys and more – items donated b y individuals and other nearby libraries, as well as what is being cleaned out of the Pawlet library. Car Show FAIR HAVEN On Saturday, July 29 the Fair Haven Green will be packed with vehicles of all kinds for the 12th annual Vermont Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce Classic Car Show. Each year, this car show attracts 90 to 130 vehicles, and there is always something interesti n g to see. Chamber president Kerry Fowler said attendees can expect to see anything from old farm tractors to classic cars. There will even be some motorcycles, new vehicles, and some custom builds. Turning Point Parade and Festival. The events will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Fort Hardy Park with rides, amusements and vendors. At 2 p.m. the annual Hot Dog Eating Contest will take place at Byron’s Village Market followed by a Pie Eating Contest.
