Valleys: A Call for Service in the Quarries and Beyond, World War 1 1914-1918. This exhibit will tell the unique story from different points of view. From the Welsh slate area of the northwest Wales, the valleys found below Snowdonia, and from the Slate Valley region of Vermont and New York. The Welsh experience is provided in exhibition panels, which was a part of an exhibit held at the Nation Slate Museum of Wales in 2016. The exhibition will explore the issues and times that lead to the “Great War” and both the Welch and USA involvement in the global war arena. The exhibit will tell moving and heart-hugging tales from local families around New York and Vermont, who’s family members and love ones were plucked from the quarries and mills and into a European front lines far from home.
