Spooky things to be explored at the Dorset Library By Ellen Ricks Think you’re the long-lost member of the Ghostbuster team? Do you watch every TV show, movie and documentary about paranormal activity? Have you sworn to anyone who would listen that you have seen something in the middle of the night that just didn’t seem right? If so, visit the Dorset Library on Friday, Oct. 13 from 7 to 10 p.m. for an evening of ghost hunting with paranormal investigator Becky Shott. Erica Shott, director of the Dorset library, came up with this event a year ago when she had heard about some odd things about the library. “I started working here three years ago and I heard things about books coming off the shelves, people reported seeing things.” Shott decided to call in her sister Becky, a professional
The Dorset Village Library will host a night of paranormal discovery on Friday, Oct. 13 paranormal investigator, to take a look. Becky Shott has been in the ghost business professionally for more than 20 years, but Erica fondly remembers her childhood in Ohio where they would investigate old, historic houses.
Becky Shott has been using her abilities to console those in need as well as present the proper understanding of ghosts and haunting. The event will start with an introduction by Becky to the equipment and ghosting, plus
the opportunity to make your own dowsing to detect the presents of ghosts. Guests are more than welcome to bring their own equipment, or borrow the library’s to conduct your personal investigation. At the end of the evening,
everyone will discuss their findings and ask Becky questions. On Oct. 14 any evidence captured will be shared with the library and included with Becky’s presentation “Ghosts and Odd Things I’ve Seen” at the Dorset Village Library. Erica’s favorite thing about the ghost hunts at Dorset? “It’s fun to see how many people are interested in this and how seriously they take it.” The ghost hunting experience at the Dorset Library is for adults only and if you’re interested in attending the event, call the library at 802867-5774 to register.
