Free Concert GREENWICH Get ready for some toe tapping good times on Saturday, Oct. 21 because celebrated acoustic musicians John Kirk and Trish Miller of Quickstep will be playing at the Greenwich High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. These musicians will be exploring folk music—it’s originals, instruments, and local variations in the concert that they cleverly called “Fiddle Tunes, Funny Songs & Fancy Footwork.” Kirk and Miller have toured for more than three decades, playing fiddle music, folk songs and performing fancy footwork for concerts, parties, and dances. The pair will be joined by Skidmore College students Amanda Muir, Rebecca Sohn and Reese Fulmer. This merry band will be harmonizing fiddles, driving banjo tunes and singing humorous songs that the whole audience will want to singalong too. Many of these tunes are rooted in the local lore of the northeast woodlands, so you’ll recognize what they’re singing about. This will surely be a fun show for all ages, so don’t miss out on the fun. This free concert is part of the Greenwich Free Library’s live music series, “Music is Living History”. The Greenwich High School Auditorium is located on 10 Grey Avenue in Greenwich.
