Holiday Train FORT EDWARD The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is back for its 18th year, decked out in holiday lights and bringing musical performances to stations across the U.S. and Canada in an effort to raise money, food and awareness for local food banks and food shelves. The train will be making a stop on M o n d a y, Nov. 27. It will arrive at the For t Edward Amtrak Station at 12:35 p.m. for a halfhour performance and depart at 1:15 p.m. Musical performances take place on a boxcar stage at each stop. While the entertainment is free, spectators are encouraged to bring a donation of either a non-perishable food item or money for the local food bank. This year, they are encouraging all event attendees to bring healthy, nutritious food items to the shows. This year’s performances will feature Canadian singers Jim and Devin Cuddy and Kelly Prescott. Father and son Jim and
Devin Cuddy proves that musical talents run in the family. Jim Cuddy was a member of the band Blue Rodeo and now a solo artist. Devin Cuddy has a passionate love of great sounds, whether they were made by rock and roll’s founding fathers, the Grand Ole Opry’s honky tonk heroes, or Jelly Roll Morton and the kings of jazz. Kelly Prescott is a “fromthe-cradle” country singer who can belt out blues like she was born in the Mississippi Valley, instead of the banks of Mississippi Lake in northern in Ontario. Her new album, “Hillbilly Jewels,” features songs that speak to a new generation of lovers of country music with plenty of energy, deep passion, powerful vocals and storytelling about life today. Each year the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train makes its way through four Canadian provinces and six U.S. states during the holiday season. Visit cpr.ca/holiday-train/ united-states for more details on the train.
