6 FRIDAY First Friday Cambridge artist Donna Wynbrandt will be showing recent works at the Pember Library and Museum in Granville, opening at First Friday on April 6 with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. The show will feature 30 of Wynbrandt’s abstract drawings - vibrant color portraits and surprising renderings of events and things around her. The show will run through April. Donna's unique style is continually evolving - she says she’s influenced by everything from pre-historic through pop

art and printed images. She has exhibited at numerous shows in New York State and nationally. "Donna's line is sophisticated, her perspective primitive and her color outrageous," said one art aficionado. Live music by Coffee and Onions - Neal Herr and David Strange – will include a performance of oldies and originals. First Friday in Granville is always free. The Pember Library and Museum, 33 West Main St., Granville, N.Y. Information: 518-642-1515.

First Friday at SVM At the Slate Valley Museum artist Richard Weis will open his contemporary art exhibit “Of Time and Place” on First Friday April 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. The show is both globally influenced and culturally diverse in content. Weiss

This final performance will be held in the Library at the College of St. Joseph on Saturday, April 7 at 7 p.m., 71 Clement Road, Rutland, Vt. This tender, moving play is about a pioneer woman and her daughters. Each scene is introduced by a quilt square or “block” symbolic of life’s passages. During each “block”, the actresses skillfully transform into many different characters whose stories depict the lot of women on the prairie. Combining music, dance and drama, “Quilters” captures both the harsh challenges and the abiding rewards of frontier life with vivid dramatic intensity. Admission by free will offering.
