History Walk On Saturday, May 5, the Mount Independence State Historic Site in Orwell, Vt., will hold a special pre-season guided history walk from 1 to 3:30 p.m. This is the perfect time of year to see the remains and traces of the defensive works built in 1776 and 1777 for the American Revolution.
