The eighth annual Battenkill Runs Through It River Festival is free this year, taking place on Saturday, May 26 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Greenwich Town Beach, just north of the village on Route 29. This family friendly, riverfocused festival features the musical talent of area singers and songwriters along with heaping plates of high quality food provided by area restaurants and caterers. There’s free kayaking, canoeing and the popular “Picky Bugs” Table for science lovers of all ages. The self-guided Open Studio tour features the work of glassblowers, jewelers, printmakers, potters, furniture makers, weavers, ironworkers, painters, sculptors, quilt makers and wood carvers. Parade The town of Middletown Springs, Vermont, invites everyone to the 49th annual Middletown Springs Memorial Day Parade. Lineup is at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, step-off is at 3 p.m. at the corner of Route 133 and Buxton Avenue and proceeds north on Route 133 to the town green. The theme for the parade is “Home of the Free, Because of the Brave.” A ceremony on the town green will follow the parade, including the traditional honor guard salute, accompanied by the Mill River Marching Band. The Middletown Springs Volunteer Fire Department will have hamburgers, hot dogs, baked goods, popcorn, soft drinks, and water for purchase at the southwestern edge of the green. Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vermont, will kick off its new era of dirt track racing on Sunday, May 27 with a free Fan Festival and Car Show during the Devil’s Bowl opening day, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fans can take a two-hour trip through the “locker room,” with up-close-and-personal access to the Devil’s Bowl pit area as race teams prepare for their first event of the season later that day. Hudson Falls and Kingsbury will hold their Memorial Day parades on Monday, May 28. In Kingsbury, the parade will start at 9 a.m. at Franklin Street near the high school and will include a memorial service at the Moss Street Cemetery. There will be a memorial service at at Juckett Park at 10:10 a.m. The Hudson Falls parade will start at 11 a.m. at the Village Hall on Locust and Main Streets. The parade will end at Union Cemetery for a memorial service.

Parade In Fort Edward, the Memorial Day parade will begin on Monday, May 28 at 1 p.m. at the Washington County Building and will march down Broadway to end at the Old Fort House Museum.

Parade In the Glens Falls region, the Memorial Day parade is a collaborative effort by the city of Glens Falls and the town of Queensbury. It will be held on Monday, May 28 beginning at 10 a.m. The parade route will head north on Glen Street from Maple Street to Crandall Park.

Parade Whitehall’s Memorial Day parade and events will take place on Monday, May 28. Farm, lawn & garden Parade In Fort Ann, the Memorial Day parade will be held on Monday, May 28 and will start at Fort Ann Central School at 10 a.m. It will proceed down Catherine Street and end at the George Street Park where everyone is welcome to gather for speeches, music and ceremony.

Parade Hudson Falls and Kingsbury will hold their Memorial Day parades on Monday, May 28.
