Wash Your Hands NO EATING, DRINKING or SMOKING ALLOWED IN ANY ANIMAL EXHIBIT or CONTACT AREA! The Saratoga County Fair asks visitors to follow posted signs and practice safe hygiene when visiting our Fairgrounds. Interacting with animals is an important part of the fair experience. Despite the many benefits of interacting with animals, people should be aware that animals can carry germs that make people sick. Animal born disease can cause a variety of illnesses, from minor skin rashes to serious infections. Diseases that pass from animals to humans are called zoonotic diseases and can include E. coli, Salmonella and Campylobacter. Older adults, pregnant women, young children and people with weakened immune systems may be especially vulnerable. By following some simple health tips, you and your family are less likely to get sick from touching or being around animals at the Fair. Fair visitors should wash their hands with soap and water before and after touching any animal and never eat, drink or put anything in your mouth while in an animal exhibit or contact area. We also encourage parents and caregivers to consider leaving strollers outside and carry small children when visiting in these areas. Adults should supervise hand washing for young children making sure children wash hands properly with soap and water after interaction with animals. Use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not readily available. The Saratoga County Fair has Hand Sanitizer Stations located in primary areas on the Fairgrounds to supplement our restroom sinks. These stations are available in food areas as well as in animal contact areas. (Handwashing Step Cards available at Saratoga County Public Health)

They are producing upwards of 2,500 horsepower, from after market engines such as a Keith Black Hemi and the Fontana Arias to more common BBF and BBC engines from Fords and Chevys. They are allowed up to 575 cubic inches and can use superchargers or turbos burning methanol for fuel. These machines all use slipper clutches with a gearbox. They have Rockwell rear ends with planetary gears. The Dick Cepeck tires can produce

As time has passed and many things in life have changed these desires have remained the same. We have gone from just stock farm tractors to a wide variety of pulling classes. We have antiques, enhanced antiques, farm stock and

A WEEK OF HORSE SHOWS
The Adirondack Trust Equine Center at the Saratoga County Fair will host a week of Horse Shows, Competitions and Demonstrations beginning on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 10 AM with the County Draft Horse Show featuring the amazing gentle giants of the horse world. The County Draft Horse Show continues with more County Draft Horse competitions on Wednesday, July 25 at 7 PM and Thursday, July 26 at 7 PM. The first event of the Open Draft Horse Show will be the North American Classic Series Six-Horse Hitch at 6PM on Tuesday, July 24. This show attracts international attention with Hitches that have traveled to Ballston Spa from throughout the Northeastern States and Canada. “The average weight of each horse is 2,000 pounds, each harness is 150 pounds per horse and the wagon weighs roughly 3,000 pounds, totaling 16,400 pounds for each Six-Horse Hitch. The ground rumbles when they are moving around the ring” comments Horse Trainer, Julie Armer Carson. Be sure to see these magnificent horses with their meticulous harnesses and beautiful wagons. The Open Draft Horse Show features the finest competitors from both in and out of Saratoga County. The Open Draft Horse Show continues at 9 AM on Wednesday, July 25. Later on Wednesday, at 1 PM, Saratoga County Fairgoers will have the rare opportunity to see the Eight-Horse Hitch Competition take to the show ring. Fairgoers will also be able see more Six-Horse Hitches on Thursday, July 26 through Sunday, July 29 in our 6@6 North American Six-Horse Hitch Demonstrations beginning at 6 PM. The Saratoga County Fair will hold the 4-H English Saddle Horse Show on Thursday, July 26 at 10 AM and the 4-H Western Saddle Horse Show at 8 AM on Friday, July 27. Later on Friday, July 27, the Saddle Horse Special Olympics will be held at 3 PM followed by the Saratoga County Fair Gymkhana event at 6:30 PM on Friday evening. The Open English Saddle Horse Show will be held on Saturday, July 28 beginning at 8:30 AM and the Open Western Saddle Horse Show will be held on Sunday, July 29 beginning at 8:30 AM.
