The Adirondack Regional Textile Artists’ Alliance, or ARTAA, will be exhibiting the work of their members in an exhibition, “Divergent Visions,” at the Valley Artisans Market in Cambridge with a reception on Saturday, July 21 from 3 to 5 p.m. The show will continue through July 31. ARTAA was established in 2005 to explore new ideas in textiles. Re-enactment Fort Ticonderoga’s two-day battle re-enactment, “Defiance & Independence,” will be held on Saturday, July 21 and Sunday, July 22, beginning at 10 a.m. both days. The battle will highlight the events of the summer of 1777, when Fort Ticonderoga’s American garrison is outflanked by a British invasion force advancing from Canada. Road Trip Crown Point Road Association will lead a tour of “Summer 1777 Battlefields” on Saturday, July 21. The single-day long-distance drive-yourself caravan road trip tour begins at Hubbardton Battlefield in Vermont and ends at the Bennington Battle Monument and the Bennington Museum, a route used by the patriot Green Mountain Boys militia in the summer of 1777.
The itinerary runs from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and consists of guided tours of both battlefields and multiple stops along the way. Participants are urged to bring a lunch and beverages. The tour is free, but three individual entrance fees are charged to each participant: $1.50 per person at Hubbardton Battlefield, $2 per person at Bennington Battle Monument, and $8.50 per person at the Bennington Museum. Car Show The 13th annual Vermont Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce Classic Auto Show will be held Saturday, July 28 in Fair Haven, Vt. Around 100 cars, trucks and motorcycles entries are expected for the show, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. near the Fair Haven town green. A wide range of entries with cars from the 1930s and ‘40s is expected as well as hotrods from the 60s, 70s and more recent vintages. The event will feature food, including maple goods, fried dough, burgers and a strawberry shortcake booth. There will also be vendors, a 50-50 raffle with donated prizes and a DJ will spin music to keep car enthusiasts entertained throughout the day.
