7 FRIDAY Holiday Fest Granville will be transformed into a winter wonderland for their annual First Friday and Christmas Festival on Friday, Dec. 7. The evening kicks off with the Festival of Trees at the Slate Valley Museum and the Festival of Wreaths and Centerpieces at the Pember Library and Museum from 5 to 9 p.m. At the Slate Valley Museum, the seventh annual Festival of Trees will feature a silent auction with decorated trees, carolers, snacks and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Across the Mettowee River footbridge, the Pember Library and Museum will host their fifth annual Festival of Wreaths and Centerpieces. The handmade wreaths and centerpieces will be available for purchase in a silent auction, carolers will sing and snacks will be available. A holiday parade will step off from the Great Meadow Federal Credit Union on East Main Street at 5:45 p.m. at proceed down Main Street to Veterans Memorial Park on Quaker Street, where Santa will distribute gifts and hear holiday wishes from children. At about 6 p.m. more than 40,000 lights will illuminate the park for the annual tree lighting and sound and light show, with the theme, “Rudolph’s Rockin’ Christmas.”
Goodies and treats from area businesses, fire pits to roast s’mores, live reindeer, horsedrawn carriage rides and more will be available in the park until 9 p.m.
Museum Gala Bennington Museum celebrates the 60s in Vermont at their annual Gala fundraiser on Friday, Dec. 7, from 7 to 10 p.m. Attendees will dig out their bell-bottoms and tie-dyed shirts and enjoy delicious holiday offerings of the 60s with a modern twist, cash bar with themed cocktails, brews and more. The Christmas in Cambridge Craft Fair will be held on Saturday at the Cambridge Central School. Doors open at 10 a.m. with vendors, food and a bucket raffle. Holiday Fest Get into the Holiday spirit with the Hudson Falls Hometown Holiday Celebration on Friday, Dec. 7, for an evening jam-packed with carols, lights and holiday magic. The celebration starts at 5:30 p.m. with Christmas carols in Juckett Park with the Hudson Falls School Music Department, followed by the tree-lighting in the park, making the park shine with Christmas cheer. Then at 6:15 p.m. Santa will be “rescued” by the fire departments and lead the parade to the park. Mayor Baron and the Village Board will welcome Santa there and children will be able to visit Santa in the gazebo and tell him their Christmas wishes. After meeting the famous man in red, families can head over to St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s School Hall for Christmas crafts, cookies, face painting and more holiday fun from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
