4 FRIDAY Concert The Granville Area Chorus will present its Winter Concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4 at the South Granville Congregational Church. The concert will begin with the chorus and audience join-
ing to sing “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” The chorus will present a variety of Christmas selections, including traditional carols, contemporary songs and “The Twelve Days of Christmas” during which children from the audience will be invited to assist the chorus with the “days.” Finally, the concert will end with the traditional combined singing of the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah. Acoustic Jam Long Lake Acoustic Jam will perform on Sunday, Jan. 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Adirondack Hotel in Long Lake, across Route 30 from the Town Beach. All acoustic musicians are invited to join in a setting that is very intimate with no amplification. If you’re not a musician, come to listen or join in the singing. Typical instruments at these sessions are guitar, dobro, fiddle, dulcimer, mandolin, accordion, concertina, banjo, spoons and bass. Musicians take turns picking the tunes and will take requests from the audience. Those who just want to play their instrument as part of the group are also welcome.
