Moonlight Hike The Rogers Island Visitors Center will sponsor its second annual Moonlit Snowshoe Tour on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. at the center. The hike is in memory of the historic Battle on Snowshoes of 1758 during the French and Indian War. It was fought near Lake George by members of British Ranger companies led by Robert Rogers against French troops and Indians allied to France. Rogers Island Heritage Development Alliance president Ed Carpenter will give a complete tour of the museum and the island itself, which is rich in detail of the major role it played in the French and Indian War. Trolleys Bennington Museum will host a presentation, “A Tale of Two Street Cars: Bennington and the Peak Inter-urban Years, 1900-1910,” on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. Historian George Lerrigo will share the results of his research into the trolleys in Bennington at the beginning of the 20th century. He will explain the inter-urban trolley system that by 1910 made it possible to make a continuous trolley-interurban trip well into the Midwest.
