Hello my sweet Honey Bunnies and welcome to My Mandarin Ducky! Today I am inviting you to join my little experimental project where I am using Guilders Paste Patina. You will only need 3 things - element you want to cover, Guilders Paste and whether a brush or your fingers. I needed to update a look of my old rusted birdcage I had hanging next to my window. I started working with a brush to keep my hands clean, you know, and covered few metallic objects. It was fine and effect was very satisfying, but then I decided to play with my old rusty birdcage. It is small and simple so I thought it will be quick and easy to cover. But when I started brushing it - it just wouldn't work. Brush felt dry and I decided to try and use my hands instead. It worked and in about 10 minutes the entire cage was covered in lovely patina. It was nice to see how it turned from an old rusty cage into a lovely Shabby Chic decor element. It does suit my room interior better this way and I am very satisfied. I would happily suggest Guilders paste Patina to anyone who is planning on doing same effect of who never played with Guilders paste before. It's really nice, it's really easy to use and the effect is cool. You might want to cover it with some sealer if you are planning on touching it a lot. Guilders paste does wear off a little bit. But usually if you let it dry for 12 hours - it should stick to your surface properly. It does help a lot if your surface is rough, not smooth so that paste has something to hold on to. I guess this is it; this was my video on testing a new product for the first time and sharing my experience. Every time I discover a new material or tool - you will have a video! So stay tuned. Bye Bye! xxx Â
