weet the Turners!

Justin and Elisha Turner met back in 2014 on a very memorable enchanted evening under the stars. Well, note quite but that’s the version Justin gives as he recalls walking into the Penguin and was immediately captivated with what he encountered. “It’s hard to describe that moment but I saw a radiant light beaming down from above. This young lady was singing and despite the room being full of men I just knew she was singing to me to the tunes of “Who Can I Run To?” I gathered myself and made a B-line to the manager asking who is she?! I found myself that day I introduced myself. Justin proposed to her in July of 2016, surprising her with a song during the process. He wanted to recall a moment when they first met but this time do the singing himself. Elisha’s passion for humanity aligned with Justin willingness to serve found them in the community often. Their work and influence found them on the front cover of Boom Magazine as Power Couple of the Year in 2016. They later joined hands in holy matrimony March 2017. Elisha continues to uplift the masses with her beautiful voice. However, she’s expanded her reach with their establishment of nonprofit 4EverCaring they cofounded. Founder and CEO, she’s now being a voice for the voiceless. Elisha’s theme is centered around bringing the village back to the community. 4EverCaring was chosen as one of the 2018 Top NonProfits of the Year by the Mississippi Business Journal. She also was chosen for Black Girls Rock Award by Sandra Howard and Community. 4EverCaring has a F.I.T. program where affordable classes are offered to include the only water aerobics in South Jackson, line dance aerobics, march aerobics, yoga, and tumbling for our youth. Free financial and legal classes are offered as well. Justin continues as the CEO of TurnerCare where they treat the whole person. Elisha currently serves as manager. Justin most recently was chosen as Best Doctor in Jackson in 2018 voted by the people in Jackson Free Press, Boom Magazine. He was also chosen as 2018 Top Entrepreneur by Mississippi Business Journal, 2017 Doctor of Distinction by Mississippi State Medical Association, 2016 Young Physician of the Year by Mississippi Medical Surgical Association, 2015 Top 50 Under 40 Business Persons by Mississippi Business Journal, 2014 IMAGE Award in Medicine by Mu Sigma Theta Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma, 2014 HealthCare Hero by Mississippi Business Journal, and 2013 Young and Influential Figure of Jackson by BOOM Magazine. He’s currently the director of health ministry at New Jerusalem Church, chief of medicine of medicine division at St Dominic’s Hospital, and on advisory board for M2M at Hinds Community College. Justin and Elisha both love giving back to the community. They want to give our youth and families the best opportunity to live and enjoy life. Justin and Elisha wants to also help restore the structure of family. There’s limited ability, with limited stability. They have two beautiful daughters, Layla, 9, and Leah, 1 and a host of extended family, friends, and supporters they wouldn’t trade for the world.

REVIEW

WHO ARE YOU AS A COUPLE? We are a young inspiring dyad who understands the importance of companionship, relationship, and entrepreneurship. WHAT THINGS DO YOU ADMIRE ABOUT YOUR SPOUSE? JUSTIN: Admire Elisha’s compassion for humanity, inspiring voice for the voiceless, and ability to sympathize and empathize. ELISHA: Admire Justin’s willingness to teach, to serve, and demonstrate a positive role model in our community. HOW DO YOU PREPARE YOURSELF TO FUNCTION AS YOUR BEST SELF IN YOUR ROLE AS A SPOUSE? JUSTIN: Wise counsel, and although difficult, understanding that self-care must exist for external care. ELISHA: Self-care, prayer, and mentorship.

HOW DO YOU UTILIZE YOUR DIFFERENCES INDIVIDUALLY AS ASSETS TO YOU AS A COUPLE? ELISHA: Justin’s personality influences me to be more open minded and understanding. Letting guards down has been a huge challenge for me but I’m thankful for the impact he has on my life. JUSTIN: Elisha is the feeler. I’m the thinker. So before AND after at times, she’s great at helping me understand I’m either being harsh or insensitive. I help her put her big girl panties on while wiping her tears as I emotionally comfort yet guide her through life’s never ending obstacle course. WHAT DOES PARTNERSHIP IN MARRIAGE MEAN TO YOU? ELISHA: For me, it means respecting, supporting, and most importantly, understanding that regardless of the circumstance, we are a team! JUSTIN: Without sacrificing total individuality, we understand we are the summation of separate parts and there’s nothing greater than us as one. AS PARTNERS IN MARRIAGE, WHAT IS YOUR ULTIMATE GOAL? WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO SACRIFICE TO OBTAIN IT? Our ultimate goal is to soar into our divine purpose. We understand the miracle of marriage and know God strategically anoints who he appoints. To obtain this, we must relentlessly pursue less of us and more of him.

WHO IS THE MR AND MRS THAT PEOPLE DON’T GET TO SEE? This is interesting as when we do get out to a public event, people are often mesmerized with our energy, humility, looseness, especially on the dance floor. WHAT IS A SCRIPTURE THAT YOU BOTH USE AS YOU FUNCTION IN A PARTNERSHIP? God grant me the courage to change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I cannot and the wisdom to know the difference.

Dismiss every misconception that you have about Dating, be open-minded, and expect to have fun! Who says that Dating has to be anything other than what you want it to be? No one- it’s up to you how creative you want your predetermined moment of eminence to be! It is also important to note that Dating is for anyone: married, engaged, and yes, SINGLE.

dating IDEAS BY: MR & MRS ROACH

RECREATE THE FIRST DATE YOU EVER HAD TOGETHER: If you went to a movie, rent the same movie. If you went out for dinner, go back to the same restaurant or make the dish that you ate at home. RENT YOU OR YOUR DATE’S “DREAM CAR.”: Take your date and your dream car you’ve rented on a weekend adventure, even if it’s just driving and exploring. HAVE A FIVE COURSE DINNER AT DIFFERENT PLACES: Instead of going to one restaurant, pick a bunch of different restaurants to enjoy various courses of your dinner date. PLAY TOURIST: Decide to play tourist for the day in your hometown. Going everywhere from the museum, to the major landmark, to the most famous restaurant in town.

We present love with a serious approach that challenges society’s modern perception that love is a feeling. Their insightful view of the true meaning and ultimate function of love compels you to reflect on your personal view and understanding of what love is, and how it is to be applied. We are all in need of love, and cannot function without it; however, it is our lack of knowledge, diverse conceptions, and varied levels of maturity that prevent us from giving and receiving love in a way that is both operative and sustaining.

MARRIAGE

We tactically illustrate the parallels of getting married and being married as they explain the image of marriage versus the essence of marriage. Knowing that love alone does not constitute a good marriage, they define the roles of the husband and wife, what needs must be met, and the purpose for the institution of the union. James and Natasha share features that have personally helped them in the growth of their marriage.

P A R T N E R S H I P

We broaden the novel perception of marriage as they build the idea of a marriage being a partnership. In a marriage, you become ONE. With this belief, James and Natasha ask what is the one thing that you represent as a couple? What singular vision do you have as a couple? What purpose are you serving as a couple? What gift are you sharing as a couple? Through personal observation and intentionally studying successful couples in partnership for over a decade, they explain the necessity of a mastermind alliance in your partnership, how to add value to what you do in your marriage, and what the fulfillment of your work in partnership is provision for.

…once Chase and I started dating, he was everything I prayed for and more. His kindness, gentleness, patience, charisma, not to forget he was fine! – kept me smiling from ear to ear. The more time we spent together, the more I experienced true love and chivalry – it was effortless for him. One day he asked me would I ever consider marrying again since I had been married before. I responded, “Yes if it’s the right person because I still believe in marriage.” To celebrate my 40th birthday, I planned a dinner at a local fine dining restaurant with close family and friends. Half way through this memorable occasion, out of the blue Chase grabs my hand, expresses his love for me, drops on one knee, and asks me to marry him. After I composed myself from the shock, I said YES! It was one of the most beautiful moments in my life. Now, we all know what comes next – planning for the big day. We decided on a beach wedding because to us, water provides serenity. Next, there’s the selection of the wedding gown which is definitely an important piece, right? Since our ceremony would be outside, I decided not to invest thousands of dollars in a gown to potentially ruin it. I considered consignment shops.

DRESS STORY

While shopping around, I learned of The Real McCoy Thrift Shop and Boutique. The boutique not only housed a limited supply of new and gently used wedding gowns but it had a unique twist. The proceeds went to The McCoy House for Sober Living for Women. The McCoy house is an elegant two-story southern plantation style house in Mississippi nestled on three wooded acres, offering a tranquil place for women to reflect on the past, live in the present and plan for the future. Amazing! The story inspired me so I definitely wanted to check out their dress selection so I could possibly support a great cause. So, one morning I went and tried on between 4-6 gowns. All of the gowns were stunning and beautiful – many still had tags but initially, I had no luck. I became a little discouraged. One of the associates said they had more dresses in the back warehouse and she would grab some for me. As I waited for her, I noticed a dress I bypassed earlier. I decided to examine its style and details. It was a beautiful off the shoulder, lightly-beaded gown that touched the floor with no train – exactly what I was looking for. I ran into the dressing room and tried it on – it was a perfect fit! So, the most memorable thing about this adored piece is: it was stunning, it fit like it was tailormade just for me, it was a fraction of the cost, and I was able to support a great cause!

My husband . James, and I were married on September 11, 1993 at the church of Christ on Elvis Presley Boulevard in Memphis , Tennessee, We met on a blind date, introduced by a mutual friend. Years later, I even wrote a poem abut it , called “The Hookup”. It’s in my first book “Reflections of a Mississippi Magnolia”. The first date was, AWFUL ! (LOL) I actually told him that he wasn’t my type and I meant it ! But, of course, over 25 years later, it seems , I was wrong. He was definitely a God choice. God sent him to me to help me and complete me in ways that I never even knew I needed. James has all of these OTHER “anniversary” dates for us (anniversary of our first phone call, anniversary of our first date, anniversary of the date we got our marriage license, ect.) These are dates that he quizzes me on every year. and dates that I NEVER remember !!! Unfortunately, and sadly, terrorists made my wedding anniversary day one that I ( and practically all Americans) will never forget ..9-11.

DRESS STORY

On September 11, 2001 thousands of Americans lost their lives in a terrifying , terrorist attack on U.S.soil. Although, we celebrate a joyous occasion on 9-11, it is always bittersweet. About my dress, all that I knew was that I wanted lots and lots of beads and sparkle. I wanted lots of BLING ! I wanted a magical Cinderella dress. As soon as I saw the dress, I knew it was The One !I think that it was the 3rd or 4th dress that they brought me. I was beyond thrilled ! It absolutely “spoke” to me and called my name ! I immediately said, “Yes” to the dress! I wanted to look and feel like a princess, so I chose a tiara style headpiece to go with my princess dress. Every time I look at my pictures I smile . All of these years later, I still think that I chose the perfect dress for me, a dress to match a fairy tale wedding and fairy-tale life. I wanted peach roses for my bouquet, to match my bridesmaids. But, my Ultra Traditional Southern Mom said No ! No ! No ! It turned out I really liked the white. Mother always knows best, Right?

CLEANSE HER. LISTEN TO HER.

Listening to your wife allows you to really understand her, and see her inner-most thoughts. You also see her needs. Being able to listen is one of the greatest gifts that you can give to your wife. When you listen, understand that she is not asking for your advice, she is simply looking for you to be open to her feelings and thoughts. Listening allows you to see what she is saying, how she is saying it, and most importantly, why she is saying it. By listening, you can discern whether your wife is seeking your advice or just in need of you helping her to find her own answer.

PAY ATTENTION TO HER.

The more you listen to your wife, the better you will get at paying attention to her. Paying attention allows you to learn major and minor details about your wife, such as knowing her favorite things, her love language, when to do things for her, and how to read her moods. When you pay attention to your wife, you can tell when she wants to do something or have something, but denies it to accommodate you or a situation. Perhaps the greatest thing is being able to recognize who God is in your wife, the strengths and gifts that He’s placed in her. Paying attention allows you to love her the way she deserves to be loved.

APPRECIATE HER.

As a husband it should be a privilege to appreciate your wife every chance you get. Appreciation shows her that all she does has value. Our wives do so much daily to make sure all our needs are met as well as running a household. Appreciate your wife by saying thank you every chance you get. Learn how to edify her at all times letting the world know that she is your gift from the Lord. Appreciate her time, her loving, her respect, her patients, her thoughts and her value to your life. This is an action that will always keep a smile on her face.

Cleansing your wife takes loving her mind, body and soul to a new level. As a husband we are taught to cleanse our wife by washing her with the word of God. As we listen and pay attention to her, please be aware that from day to day so much negativity, disappointments and past hurts fill her mind. Sometimes it’s visible and sometimes suppressed. To cleanse her we must pray with and for her daily, speak positive things into her life daily, speak the word of God with her daily and patently help her to focus on the positive only each and every day. As you cater to her as the weaker vessel the stronger she will be.

BE A GENTLEMAN (CHIVALRY) WITH HER.

Being a gentleman shows your wife that you’re a chivalrous, courteous and an honorable man. Doing this consistently will give your wife the assurance that you love and honor her worth. Your wife deserves to have her doors opened, her chair pulled out, having her hand held in public and private, foot rubs and fixing her plate, just to name a few. Being a gentleman is one of the greatest ways to honor your wife, not only for what she does but ultimately for who she is to you. As husbands let’s show our wives and the world that chivalry is alive and well.

SET GOALS THAT STRETCH HER.

Being the visionary of the home it is our job to set the bar high with everything that we do, including setting goals. The goals should include you and your wife at all times. Because we as husbands desire to see all God has instore for our wives, it is good to set all goals bigger than life. High goals are put into place so that we have to be stretched and grow to reach them. As husbands stretching our wives shows her that we believe in her. Believing in our wives is one of the highest forms of love and appreciation.

PLACE HER AS YOUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD.

Yes, place her before parents, children, the household responsibilities, work-related duties, and all the other things that attempt to press their way in front

of your wife. Establishing and maintaining this priority is one way of fostering peace, better communication, and productivity within your home and relationship.

LOVE GOD AND BUILD A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. This must be priority over all other things. It is not possible to know God and not love Him, and it is impossible to love someone else and not love God. Establishing a loving relationship with God will properly equip you with the strength and wisdom to truly love your husband with an unconditional lovean Agape love. Furthermore, the love that you have for God allows you to accept His commands, and grow in understanding of His word. As your relationship with God grows, so will it with your husband as God shows you how to submit to your husband as unto Christ. LOVE YOURSELF AND HAVE AN INCREASING DESIRE TO BETTER YOURSELF. The better woman that you become, his inspiration to be better is also increased. He sees you as a suitable helper, a true partner – one who completes him as opposed to competes with him. By focusing on positive change within yourself, your husband will view you as someone to be honored, instead of feeling like you’re trying to change him. Also, it may be necessary to tell him that you are working to make yourself better, so that you can be a better help to him. BELIEVE IN AND BUILD UP THE MAN THAT HE IS TO BE. It is vital that you always keep a positive image of who your husband is to be. This takes work on your part, but it’s worth it in the end. There will be moments where it’s easy to see your husband’s weaknesses or areas you feel he needs to grow in, but trust in God to mold and change him. Continue to build him up, encourage him, speak to and treat him like the man that he is to become. Also, be careful not to compare him to anyone else. Ultimately, you want him to be his best self, who God designed him to be – which is more than what you may desire him to be within a moment.

LET YOUR THOUGHTS, WORDS, AND ACTIONS ALWAYS BE POSITIVE OF HIM. This requires self-discipline on many levels. It has often been said that when we do things, we do them three times: in our mind, in our words, and in our actions. Often, there is much emphasis on guarding what we say or do, because those are external things that others can see. However, our thoughts are internal which only God can see. Don’t allow negative thoughts to build up against what you know is true about your husband – that he is your good and perfect gift from the Lord, and that he is fearfully and wonderfully made. Through prayer, fasting, meditation, and God’s word, tear down the strongholds that have built themselves up in regard to your husband so that your words and actions may always be positive both publicly and privately. HONOR HIM AS THE PRIEST, PROVIDER, AND PROTECTOR OF YOUR HOME. To do so requires trust and faith in God at an optimum level. Perhaps this is the area where submission is exercised the most, because it requires a great deal of sacrifice. As the priest of the home, your husband must be respected as the mediator between God and the family. Respect your husband as the one who provides the vision and goals for your family – not just a provider of resources. Understand that God will provide your husband with the vision. Your work is found in his vision. This is not to disregard your goals and dreams. When you sacrifice your personal ambitions, you’ll understand that God has made provisions for your gifts to be used and desires fulfilled in the work that He has given your husband. As the protector of your home, your husband’s fortification addresses anything that may infringe upon the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of your family. If you feel or see that these components are not present in your husband, pray that God develops these things in him. PRAY FOR HIM. Be attentive to your husband’s needs, desires, strengths, and weaknesses in a way that you can prayerfully ask God to address. When you do so, you allow God to use all of His resources to touch the areas of your husband that you’re praying for. Have peace in knowing that you have no power to change anything about your husband, but God gives you the power and authority to pray for him and help him through God’s strength. PLACE HIM AS YOUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD. Yes, place him before the children, the household chores, work-related duties, and all the other things that attempt to press their way in front of your husband. Establishing and maintaining this priority is one way of fostering peace, better communication, and productivity within your home and relationship.

SAME FAITH

Speaking of Partnership, I never thought it was important that I shared same faith with my partner. I felt as long as we were in love, that we were good. But 2nd Corinthians 6:14 taught me better; “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?” Giving my life to Christ (best decision ever) gave access to the Holyspirit to dwell in me to guide me in all truth. I started to realize that Love isn’t all that there is to having a peaceful and Beautiful partnership with a significant other. Having sexual intercourse with your partner/ lover would only make the devil becloud your mind and trap you to thinking they are the Godgiven person for you when they might not even be. The devil is good at match making two wrong people together through the power of sex. Sex is very powerful!.. hence the reason God instructed that we wait until after marriage. This is to enable us spiritually gain knowledge of whom we intend spending the rest of our lives with. Would they be there for us and not give up on us through thick and thin without sex being involved? Or has sex become the transaction we have to make to keep the relationship going? -

Would Would Would Would Would

there be Love If sex wasn’t involved? he/she be passionate about you even if there wasn’t sex involved? they go the extra mile for you even if there was no sex involved? they respect, honor and treat you like a queen/king if sex wasn’t involved? they support your goals & dreams if you didn’t have sex?

I had to be born again to see to realize this. I began to see that we MUST share same faith, we must believe in same God and His commandments, we must Worship same God in spirit and in truth. My partner must be chasing after God so much that God reveals to that I am the the one for Him, and vice versa. He must fear and reverence God enough that When God says I am not the one, He is not afraid to lose me cos He can not afford to lose God. Partnership is the Perfect Plan God made for Man/woman to commune with Him. The First Adam lost that privileged, they messed it all up. But God, being a merciful and compassionate Father, sent to Us the Second Adam (Jesus Christ), who had to be born of the Holyghost to redeem us from the Sin of the First Adam. And this is why We all have Grace(second chance) by the mercy of God to do what’s right before God. We cannot Worship God right and efficiently with an Unbeliever. There has to be a spiritual connection that connect both souls to worship God. These two souls would encourage one another in the Lord. They are meant to pull each other up. Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” I noticed it must all first start from friendship before graduating into Partnership, and then Lovers/ couples. We mustn’t change the order and start doing what married couples are meant to do. (Have sex., for procreation and for a higher spiritual connections) This is the reason the divorce rate in this dispensation has increased by a great percentage. Because the order has been changed. It’s now sex before marriage, as opposed to sex after marriage. Many people now marrying other people’s wives and husbands because sex made them think they were meant for each other. After marriage, they realize sex/Love is not enough bond to keep them together, then they file for divorce based on Irreconcilable differences. Differences they would have seen clearly had they been patient to hear from God. Differences they probably saw, but Sex blinded their Eyes to noticing it until they got trapped by themselves in marriage. Wait for God to show you your partner... Your destiny Ride or Die. Then would the essence of marriage make much more sense to you.

THE VALUE OF BEING SINGLE with Great Expectations

Being single IS NOT a death sentence, NOT an indication of worth, nor is it an indication or a source of incompleteness. Being single is a time that should be used effectively and efficiently. This precious time should be spent first and foremost, focusing on and nurturing a personal and intimate relationship with God. Because we will most certainly need a SOLID foundation as we wait to be found by our husband(women) or to find your wife(men), as we date with a Godly purpose and unquestionably once we enter into the ministry of marriage.

There is value in being a single with GREAT EXPECTATIONS. Personally, it started with a transformation of my thought process(mentality). I had to start living a Roman 12:2 lifestyle and stop conforming to the patterns of this world in order to be transformed. I had to allow my mind to be renewed into a WIFE..not a girlfriend..not a “friend”..not someone who would except being in a “rotation” with other women. The value extends beyond just the visible things about me. The value runs deeper than the natural eye can see. It is written in the Book of Genesis that God created us in His likeness and in His image. So, I live as though I know that I am valued by my God who cherished me enough that He wanted me to “resemble” Him and I should be valued by the person that He created to be in my life. That significance started with me valuing myself as a single Christian woman and making up my mind that I would NOT settle for anything less than God’s best for my life and not what I would categorize as “best”, but GOD’S BEST! As I stand in GREAT EXPACTIONS, I stand on a truth of sexual purity and will not engage in sex until marriage – #TeamPurity. Now I am sure that that truth eliminates over 50% of the male population as a potential prospect of being my husband. So many people are led by the flesh, not the spirit and live accordingly. I’ve accepted, that I cannot expect someone to accept something that they don’t understand if they are not journeying their own sexual abstinent lifestyle. The one(s) NOT sent by God, won’t value this truth and I am ok with that. It is written in 1 Corinthians 6 that my body is a TEMPLE of the Holy Spirit which I received from God; it is not my own and that I should flee sexual immorality.

As a single Christian woman with GREAT EXPECTATIONS, I empower you to invest in yourself. Because there’s a return on that investment which can’t be measured and embraces value – whether single or married. Intentionally pray that God will lead and guide you to the passion and purpose that He’s planted in you for His glory. Seek God’s will for your life. Spend some time becoming that which you desire to see in your spouse, because we are truly what we attract. It is written in Genesis 2:18 that the LORD God said that it is not good for the man to be alone and He would make a helper suitable for him. Spend time investing in becoming “suitable”; meaning right or appropriate for a particular person, purpose, or situation. Ask yourself the million-dollar question … “Would I marry me?” As a single Christian woman with GREAT EXPECTATIONS, I also empower you to know that to a blessed man - not a lucky man, you are his good thing and his bridge to favor. It’s written in Proverbs 18:22 that he who finds a WIFE, finds a good thing AND obtains favor from the Lord. Study the Godly duties of a wife, pray and seek Godly mentors and counsel, fast and pray without ceasing in your season(s) of singleness for insight and revelations about being the wife that God created you to be! Read daily devotionals in conjunction with God’s word and equip yourself with His gear and live abundantly as Jesus came that you may. Determine what constitutes your “best life” and live it. Find your completion in God and God alone because He is your ONLY source of eternal completeness; everything else is temporary. It is my sincere prayer that on your journey through singleness you live, enjoy it, and maximize it. And at the appointed time, God will make that divine introduction all for His glory.

MAKING FAMILY MEALTIMES FUN

Sitting down together for a meal whenever you can is a great way to connect with your family. Try keeping it relaxed to make sure you are getting the most out of your time together. HERE ARE SOME TIPS FROM THE UNITED STATE OF AGRICULTURE WAYS TO HELP FAMILIES MAKE MEALS MORE RELAXED AT HOME:

Remove distractions. Turn off the television and put away phones and tablets, so that your attention is on each other.

• Talk to each other. Focus conversation on what family members did during the day, for example, what made you laugh or what you did for fun. OTHER CONVERSATION STARTERS INCLUDE: o Give each family member the spotlight to share their highlight, lowlight, and “funnylight” from the day or week. o If our family lived in a zoo, what animals would we be and why? o If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? o If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one food to eat, what would it be and why? •

Pass on traditions. Tell children about the “good old days” such as foods grandma made that you loved to eat.

Let kids make choices. Set a healthy table and let everyone, including the kids, make choices about what they want and how much to eat.

Let everyone help. Kids learn by doing. The little one might get the napkins and older kids help with fixing foods and clean up.

Make-your-own dishes like tacos, mini pizzas, and yogurt parfaits get everyone involved in meal time.

WHY MEN LOVE

In honor of knowing what you deserve I thought it would be nice to share with you what I’m currently reading. It’s called “Why Men Love *****” by Sherry Argove. To give you a brief summary, this book teaches women how to hold their own in a relationship while getting to know themselves. ALLOW HIM TO CHASE YOU. Men love to chase what they want and sometimes we as women make it to easy for them. Give him a mental challenge; he should never think you can’t live without him. Your availability should be selective, don’t always drop everything for his benefit. Make him work for it and if he doesn’t keep it movin’ sis. MEN PREFER A FEISTY WOMAN. Men love women who can stand their ground and put them in their place. Don’t be a doormat. Demand respect! WHEN YOU NAG, HE SEES WEAKNESS. Have you ever found yourself talking and talking and he breathes heavily while rolling his eyes? Yep. Ok, its probably because you were nagging him. If you’re having to repeat yourself more than twice it is time to stop talking and start acting. Through your actions show him you are no longer bothered and this can help renew his respect. ‘“For example, don’t show your feelings for a little while. Don’t explain why. Don’t say this is the “new me.” Just be cool and show him with actions. Switching it up will open his eyes and he will see you differently.

ACT LIKE A PRIZE AND YOU’LL TURN HIM INTO A BELIEVER. Men love a confident women who does not wear her insecurities on her sleeve. Always requiring validation from your significant other shows you don’t know your worth or value. Yes, we have our good and bad days but don’t ever put yourself down. How you see yourself is how he will see you. Also, when he knows you aren’t threatened by other women he has no other choice but to see your worth. MOST WOMEN ARE STARVING TO RECEIVE SOMETHING FROM A MAN THAT THEY NEED TO GIVE THEMSELVES. When I read this I was like WOW! YAS! First and foremost, I feel it’s important for everyone to have a relationship with themselves before getting into a relationship with someone else. Self love is the best love and if you don’t fully know and love yourself how can you expect someone else to? So many times I have seen people give up what they love for a relationship. If you find yourself giving up control and making big sacrifices you will end up empty handed. Men love when you have your own thing going on and living your life to the fullest.

I HOPE THESE TIPS HELP YOU AS MUCH AS THEY HAVE HELPED ME.
