OUR ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT We are all dependent upon Mother Nature. We recognise the growing impact of climate change on our environment and the threat it poses, not just to our industry, but to the planet as a whole. We actively encourage all our business partners to join us in making our planet a cleaner, healthier place to live. We do this on behalf of our children and our children’s children.

We believe that our dependence on carbon emitting fossil fuels is not a good thing for our planet in the long term - and that we need a risk management strategy to address this problem. With this in mind we have decided to measure and take responsibility for the impact that our business has on the earth’s long term livability. Voluntary offsetting is used by businesses to negate their carbon footprint through the direct and measurable investment in renewable carbon offset projects, and is therefore a more personally responsible contribution to environmental action. Our off-set investments are helping to fast-track the development of clean energy technologies that replace the burning of fossil fuels. If every business were to take this action - the path to a clean and positive future would become more than just a dream.

Since April 2010 we have had our business independently audited by the Carbon Reduction Institute of Australia to ascertain our carbon footprint. These figures have revealed an average carbon output across the business of approximately 1300 tonnes per year - so far we have offset 3000 tonnes - accounting for 100% of our 2010, 2011, 2012 and some of our projected 2013 emissions. The following are the two projects that we have so far supported. After initial costs this energy becomes far cheaper and clean. We are purposefully investing in the places where most of the emissions from our production are made. This project is a run-of-river hydropower project. No flooding of agricultural land nor migration of people has been caused by it. Natural river flow and water supply are not affected by the implementation of this project. Sunan Yugur Autonomous County has a population of 13,000 people. The climatic conditions in the county mean that fresh vegetables are rare. This project has brought a number of positive environmental, social and economic benefits to the local area, including the following: • The reservoir required is small enough to be contained within the original natural river bank. • The project has increased employment opportunities in the area; during the construction stage of the project 580 people were employed. Now the project is running, 15 new staff are employed on permanent contracts. • The project has stimulated further economic development in the area: A new road was built giving locals better access to nearby towns.. • The electricity generated by the project displaces electricity supplied by fossil fuel based power plants.

The Diaobingshan Wind project is located in Tieling, Liaoning province. The area has in the past been dominated by heavy industry, and the Diaobingshan wind farm is being used as a flagship example of green industry in the region. • 107,541 tonnes of CO2 will be saved annually by the project against the business as usual scenario. • The project will replace fossil-fuel produced electricity in the North East China Power Grid with clean energy from wind turbines. • A new road was built for this project which improves access from villages in the foothills of the mountain to the nearby Xiaonan town. Before road construction, when heavy rain or snow fell, 5 villages, with over 3,000 residents could not access the local town.
