manifeste™ metropolis manifeste™ artistic & humanistic project explores the conditions to be met in order to build cities as perfect systems, with their own form of economy, where people thrive, live in happiness. Based on initiatives implemented in Bhutan, in contact with UN delegates who started in April 2012 a global commission on happiness & well being, the intention consists in building a new archetype through : - one-to-one discussions with experts in social science, humanities (anthropology, sociology, biology...) and management (economy, finance, urban planning...) - interactive workshops with students in art, design, architecture, management... - in 9 very different cultural situations (9 cities) across the world This research will lead to the : - definition of the optimal conditions + local specifics - implementation of real-life projects in different places around the world (building these new forms of cities) This project is everything but utopia !... - since its launch in Brussels in 2006, manifeste™ has shown its ability to express universal values through objects presented across 80 places around 16 countries - in July 2012, manifeste™ was described by Design Bureau Magazine as "transforming everyday objects and concepts into creations that supersede the ordinary and give us an enchanting glimpse into a well-designed future world" - with metropolis, manifeste™ shows the full scale and scope of the project.
