BRIGHTON A MAN OF METROPOLIS EXCLUSIVE
Born and raised in Southern California, Brighton embodies that SoCal Summer charm and style from the modeling work he does to his music career as a singer and songwriter. His handsome look and vocal chops may fool you but, Brighton grew up facing extremely tough odds with a bone disorder called congenital pseudoarthrosis. He underwent over 17 surgeries before he was even 21. He didn't let that stop him from finding a way to create his own path and leverages the power of digital platfroms like Spotify and Instagram to reach his audience by
sharing exclusive new music monthly including the launch of his new synth-pop style athem, 'you don't' out July 1. We sat down with Brighton following an epic shoot exclusively for MAN OF METROPOLIS by photographer Raul Romo. So you are born and raised in California, what is your best Summer memory of growing up on the west coast? First off, I want to say THANK YOU for letting be apart of MEN OF METROPOLIS I loved everything about this shoot. My

best summer memories growing up are having beach days with my brothers. Style and personality are often created by our surroundings, what sorts of fashion and musical influences did you grow up on, and how do they show up in your music and style today? When I was younger, I didn’t really care about what I wore. It just depended on what mood I was in. I could go from sweats and a sweatshirt, to slacks, loafers and a button up.

John Mayer was and is definitely a musical influence for me. Looking at him now I definitely see his influence in my music because it is mainly guitar driven and his songwriting is incredible. We are living in a digital age, we are all more connected now than ever, releasing music has never been easier or harder -- there is so much "content" out there now. How do you stay true to yourself while combating the feeling to compete, and put out more and more "stuff" more often versus really editing down what you want to release? I’m not trying to compete with anyone. I just like to write and produce my own stuff. We’re able to access our fans and audience quicker and I think that’s a positive thing in this digital age. You have a new song coming out soon, we saw the hint on Instagram can you share the title of the song and some lyrics? When will it come out? What is it about? I do! It drops on July 1st and It’s called ‘you don’t.’ It’s about being in a relationship and realizing that the person you were with never loved you the way you loved them. Some of the lyrics from 'you dont' are:
Everyone needs downtime when you aren't being a musician or model, what are you doing to relax and take time for you? I like to workout at my family’s studio (Hardtfit... plug plug plug) and go to the beach with my friends What is the greatest thing about your generation? Social media allows us to connect with people all over the world that we may have never had the opportunity to meet before. When the day is over, and your head hits the pillow at night, what are you happiest about right now in your life? I’m happy that i’m able to wake up everyday and do what I love. Follow-Up: What one thing do you wish you could change about your life right now? I wouldn’t change anything, i’m pretty blessed to have an amazing family and team that supports me in whatever I do. What are your goals this year and in 2020 with your music?

My goal this year is to release a song every month and hopefully by 2020, release an album entirely produced and written by myself.
You sing about love and relationships. If you were "title" your life right now in an original song title, or you were to title the editorial you shot with MAN OF METROPOLIS, what would you call it? Why?
Words to live by? “best day ever!”
I would title it ‘worth it’ because all the nonstop writing/producing and work i’ve been doing this years is definitely going to be worth it… Being a young attractive talented guy has lots of perks we bet, but what do you think are some of the challenges that come with the work you do? How are you human? I think the biggest challenges I face are that people sometimes don’t take me seriously because of my appearance but I work hard to prove them wrong. You are in your car driving to the beach, what are you jamming to right now, do you have a playlist or go-to album right now? On my spotify page you can check out my playlists and see what I’m listening to! I update them weekly.
