Tuesday 2 May Noel & Gertie is a love story devised by Sheridan Morley from the letters and diaries of two of the best-loved performers of the twentieth century; Noel Coward and Gertrude Lawrence. With songs and scenes from shows including Private Lives and Blithe Spirit, this beautifully set and immaculately executed production takes a perfectly-orchestrated trip down memory lane. “I love criticism just so long as it’s unqualified praise,” Noel Coward once said. It is lucky then, that the reviews for this new production of Noel & Gertie, based on the playwright’s 54-year friendship with Gertrude Lawrence, have been met with admiration, acclaim and applause. Photos from MTP’s 2014 revival of Noel & Gertie with Julian Forsyth and Helen Power. An entertainment devised by Sheridan Morley with the words and music of Noel Coward.

The inmates at a bizarre summer camp are plotting a revolution. Or has it already happened? Spending a day watching their schedule of exercise, lessons and meals, a long history of unrest and injustice lies hidden, and as the day wears on, a violent future looms large on the horizon. We are delighted to welcome Flying High Theatre Company as our guests for this evening. Both companies will be taking their plays to Derby Theatre, our Partner Theatre for Connections Festival (24 – 29 April). Please see Derby Theatre website for more details: www.derbytheatre.co.uk Time: 7.30pm Tickets: £4.50 All seats Venue: Palace Theatre, Main Stage Duration: Approx 2hrs 15mins NBF
