Who can vote?

You can vote in the local elections if you are:

„ Registered to vote

„ A resident in the area

„ A British Citizen living in the UK or registered to vote as a Crown Servant or member of the armed forces

„ An EU citizen living in the UK

„ A Commonwealth citizen who has leave to enter or remain in the UK, or who doesn’t require that leave and is legally a resident in the UK

If you are applying for voter ID, you must be registered to vote in the upcoming elections. You can check online at: www.gov.uk/ register-to-vote. The deadline to apply to vote is Monday 17 April 2023. Check today.

The easiest way to vote is by post. You can apply for a postal vote at gov.uk/government/ publications/apply-for-a-postal-vote.
