Welcome...

In addition to a number of dance schools, performing academies and local schools showing off their talent with pride as well as Heanor Musical Theatre staging Avenue Q, we have loads of professional companies bringing a feast of varied entertainment. The range is broad with Northern Ballet performing Little Red Riding Hood for little people to Ballet Theatre UK dancing Sense and Sensibility. Drama lovers will be treated to Jane Eyre and those who prefer a bit more sauciness, we have Temptation in the Temple! There is live music in abundance, from Livewire AC/DC to The Magic of Motown to The Moonlight Serenade Orchestra. And if you like to participate from your seat, we have The Wizard of Oz Easter Panto with Bobby Davro and the film of Sing-a-long-a Bohemian Rhapsody. Whether you are young or old, single or part of a large family, we hope that we have something to tickle your entertainment taste buds. It is therefore very pleasing for me to end my career as Cultural Services Manager with such variety on offer in this, my final programme, before I retire at the end of the season. I have thoroughly enjoyed over 25 years working in this Theatre with the marvellous team that we have here to entertain you. I would like to thank Mansfield District Council for placing their trust in me to take responsibility for Cultural Services for so many years and the team for being so incredibly supportive and being key to the successes that we have achieved. Finally, thank you for being such wonderfully loyal audiences over the decades and I wish you many more happy years of entertainment in this lovely venue. Happy theatregoing!

Andrew Tucker Cultural Services Manager

Who’s who?!

For the past 25 years, Andrew has put heart and soul into his role as manager of the council’s Palace Theatre and Cultural Services. In doing so he has overseen the development of a successful, vibrant theatre and cultural offer that receives rave reviews from far afield. At Andrew’s core is a genuine passion and commitment to culture and the arts and the important role they play in enriching the lives of the communities he serves. Andrew Tucker This, I believe, acts as the source for the energy and enthusiasm that has driven him and the Palace team on over all these years.

Sadly however, it will soon be time for Andrew to exit stage left and retire. So on behalf of Mansfield District Council, the people of Mansfield, employees and patrons of the theatre and all the production companies, agents and cast you have worked with over the years, we wish you well for a long and fulfilled retirement. In this your final season, enjoy your final curtain call. Take your final bow, Mr Tucker – you’re a tough act to follow! David Evans Head of Health and Communities Mansfield District Council

Join the star cast of refreshingly honest and unreserved girls on a riotous evening of sketches and classic pop anthems that define being a 21st Century woman. Take a no-holds-barred comedy romp through everything life throws at a modern day woman - dating, relationships, break-ups, fashion, dieting, chocolate, more dieting, sex, going out, staying in, wine, more wine and of course, men. All are thrown under the microscope of uproarious dissection - no subject is too taboo!

The Rolling Stones have dominated rock ‘n’ roll music since the 1960s and were at the forefront of the British invasion of bands that conquered America. They’ve recorded some of the most phenomenal rock ‘n’ roll songs of all time and you can now relive all the classic hits in this high energy concert celebrating songs including Satisfaction, Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Honky Tonk Woman, Brown Sugar and Start Me Up - to name just a few!

Get involved and come along to channel your inner diva because Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Come along and experience a truly authentic Rolling Stones spectacle, complete with an awesome production, the finest musicians and the world’s number one Mick Jagger lookalike in Paul Ashworth.
