Best Tasting Water Contest

Samples for entry in the Best Tasting Water Contest must be submitted at the Information Desk in Nedderman Hall on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 before 9:00 a.m. This contest is sponsored by the North Texas Laboratory Analysts Section. The winner of the contest will be announced at the luncheon on Tuesday, May 14. The winner of this contest will be eligible to compete in the statewide contest held at the TWUA Annual School next March.

Lunches Provided in Class

This year, due to the ongoing construction of the Bluebonnet Room, we’re bringing lunch directly to you in your classrooms! Enjoy the convenience of meals being delivered to you without missing a beat in your class. Following your lunch period, you will have a 10-15 minute break for you to make your way over to the Rosebud Theatre (across the lobby from the Bluebonnet Room) where we will host our normal board meeting, announcements, awards, raffle prizes, and more. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this construction period. Thank you!

Special Thank You

The North Central Texas Region of TWUA would like to extend a special thank you to the University of Texas at Arlington and its staff for allowing us to host our event on the UT Arlington campus. Hosting this event is no easy task and requires significant involvement and coordination from the staff of numerous UTA departments. Their hard work and dedication to our cause is greatly appreciated.

Certification and Examination Information

CREDIT HOURS:

Those desiring credit for certification must turn in their attendance cards to their proctor at the beginning of each day and after each break, including lunch. These cards will then be cross-referenced with the class roster and punched for the session. The cards will be returned to you prior to leaving for breaks and at the end of the day Most importantly, be sure to turn in your attendance card to the class proctor at the completion of your course. Cards cannot be mailed at a later time.

Basic courses are designed for those just entering the water utility field who desire certification at the “D” or “C” level. Since specific courses are required for certain licenses, you must be sure to attend the correct class. If you are not sure which class to take, check with TCEQ.

EXAMINATIONS – WATER/WASTEWATER:

If you want to test for a TCEQ license, your application must be pre-approved before you can register to test. To apply for a license, or ask questions regarding testing, contact TCEQ at (512) 239-6133 or licenses@tceq.texas.gov. If approved, you will receive an approval letter in the mail which you must bring with you at exam time. Approval of an e-application takes approximately 6-8 weeks (if all supporting documentation is provided and there are no deficiencies).

* TCEQ no longer offers paper-based exams. Exams are now only available by computer and must be taken at a testing center.

Exam results will be mailed within three to four weeks after the test date.

LABORATORY ANALYSTS:

Examinations for the Laboratory Analyst certifications will be given on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in Nedderman Hall, providing prior arrangements have been made. Applications must be submitted through TWUA in advance of this school.
