The Student Activities Office provides co-curricular opportunities that are both entertaining and educational. These various types of special events, activities, and programs are designed to promote leadership development, social interaction, and the exploration of new ideas and experiences. Pledge a Greek organization, go kayaking, or join a band. Your aspirations are your only limitations! Increase your intellectual and professional growth while creating lifelong friendships. The knowledge, skills, and interests that you gain through our many organizations will translate into opportunities for success.
Criminal Justice Administration
The CJA program prepares students for a challenging and rewarding career in criminal justice, law, public policy, juvenile justice, and other related fields. It’s the only program in the state that includes an optional Act 120 pathway through the MU Public Safety Training Institute that allows students to earn both a bachelor of science degree in CJA and the certification to work as a police office in Pennsylvania.
Psychology
With seven concentrations to choose from, the Psychology program is one of the most popular areas of study on campus. Students can select from General Psychology, Counseling, Forensic Counseling, Health, Human Resource Management, and School Psychology. Students share research at the annual Research Symposium and other professional conferences which they note as one of their most valuable experiences.
Business Administration
The ACBPS accredited Business Administration program features concentrations in Accounting, Management, and Marketing and allows students maximum flexibility by designing an individualized program of study tailored to each individual’s interests, needs, and aspirations. The program is designed to permit internships, practicum work experiences, and minor studies.
Biology
The Biology program offers a hands-on approach with opportunities to conduct research with accomplished faculty. Concentrations include Cellular and Molecular Biology, Environmental Biology, Fisheries, and Medical Laboratory Sciences. The Biology program may meet the minimum requirements for medical, dental, chiropractic, veterinary, and physical therapy schools with proper course selection and advising.
Education
Mansfield has a rich tradition of preparing future educators as one of the first teacher colleges in Pennsylvania. Programs include Early Childhood and Elementary Education (with or without and optional Special Education certification) along with Secondary Education with concentrations in Earth and Space Science, English, Mathematics, and Social Studies/History. The university’s Music Department also offers a degree in Music Education.
Nursing
The Bachelor of Science program in Nursing allows students to spend their first two years completing general education and introductory nursing classes at Mansfield University’s main campus before gaining hands-on experience with two years at Guthrie’s Robert Packer Hospital. Students have the opportunity to explore a variety of clinical experiences in the region that match their career interests.
Geosciences
Get outside and explore with the Geosciences program which offers a wide range of degree programs and concentrations. The B.S. in Geosciences has optional concentrations in Environmental Science, Geoarchaeology, Geology, and Watershed Management. There is also a B.S. in Safety Management and an Associates in Environmental Technology.
Social Work
The accredited Social Work program prepares future social workers for one of the fastest growing careers in the country. The Social Work program prepares its graduates to practice in the challenging field of helping others improve the quality of their lives. From working one-on-one with individuals and families, to conducting group work, to engaging organizations and entire communities, social workers are found in a variety of settings.

We’ve awarded over $4 million in merit and need-based scholarships and grants each of the past three years.
Qualified students at participating high schools in Pennsylvania can take tuition-free college credits through Mansfield University’s Early Start Program. Students can enroll in face-to-face or online classes taught by Mansfield University faculty and earn college credits while still in high school. High school seniors who enroll in the Early Start Program will automatically receive general admission to Mansfield University.

We are a small school with huge opportunities for our students. Our university has over 400 internship affiliation agreements with a wide variety of businesses, organizations, and agencies, providing eligible students with a wealth of opportunities. Mansfield University students have interned with companies ranging from ESPN and Disney, to local banks and hometown businesses. Our graduates pursue a wide range of career paths and continuing education opportunities. The Class of 2020 had 95% success rate.* *Within 9 months of graduation; 79% graduates employed, 16% enrolled in post-graduate programs, and 1% in the United States Military service.
