“The architect must be a prophet.....If he can’t see at least ten years ahead don’t call him an architect.” - frank lloyed Wright I believe that for an architect, creation is a powerful skill, an intriguing ability envolving from our originalities and perspectives. By fomulating our own unique creations, we may endeavour to create a parallel between our imagination and the world in which we live.

to a new Ahmadabad city and its identity.

Conceptual theorisation and Site Justification Ahmedabad city has many characteristics layers. This project is unpacking the major three physical characters such as, gates, poles and street markets as these posters are indicating and they are additionally indicating the project’s aims and city’s identity as well. But there is an invisible character which is the people of the city, without it the city would be naked and that is creating the whole new identity to the city’s heritage. For the intervention I am trying to connect the city’s two different parts; the western city and the old city. By connecting these two by the means of a habitable bridge. The intervention would not be just a bridge rather it would be a longextended wall which would have the characteristics and the elements of the old/heritage city of Ahmedabad.

The bridge would facilitate the city in multiple ways in which as in: • To make the dead heritage sites alive by allowing the people to walk through it. • To protect the heritage, culture and social fabric by integrating their life into a protected heritage. • To protect and keep the site alive by the functions of local people.

Project : 01 Juvenile Detention Centre Introduction This project addresses the Juvenile crime and how I can as an architect, prevent it and how architecture can facilitate it to reduce the rate of the juvenile crimes specifically in India. According to the research and theory, juvenile crime and delinquent are a point of social misbehavior and unacceptable action which require to be taken care at early age of life of a teenager, as such behavior or action may develop in committing major crime or social misconduct in future. Such scenario is supposed to be paid attention in India as well. Youth delinquency rates are growing higher and children are the victims

In this thesis project I am also addressing the reasons behind such crimes

Site introduction

SITE SELECTION

CONCEPT PLANNING DRAWINGS :

During the case studies I learned that the selected site was already under the redevelopment process. Therefore, I decided to choose the site for my project, and also the site was already at it’s perfect location in my perspective. Khanpur observation home is located in the Khanpur area, near Kama hotel, Ahmedabad. Total site area: 9173.74 Sq. Mt. The site is connected by major roads of

Ahmedabad.

Also, the connectivity through local transport

system is very well and easily available. Reasons of choosing this site:

POINT

DESIGN PROCESS DRAWINGS :

The existing building has been built before 60 years. And the current condition of the building is very poor. Moreover, the government has also put this site building to the redevelop process. Also, I observed many issues regarding to this building during my primary case study of this building.
