School Safety, Strategy and SROs!
As a district, Manteca Unified is heavily invested in our partnerships with local law enforcement, emergency first responders, and county agencies.
District and site leaders meet with our local law enforcement partners quarterly to evaluate our practices and protocols. These important meetings ensure strategic plans and preparations are up to date for various emergency scenarios.
To kick off 2023, the District Incident Command team held their first meeting of the year to discuss school site safety plans and reunification procedures!
At this month’s meeting, the group focused on reunification procedures. During a school emergency, there is a possibility that students may be evacuated to an alternative location, especially in natural disaster situations like flooding or fire. If the safest option is for students to be transported to an alternative location, this initiates reunification procedures – the process of reuniting students with their parent or guardian.
While the topic of this month’s meeting was reunification procedures, these meetings give District and site leaders the opportunity to connect with school resource officers (SROs), who play an important role in day-to-day
