Mother Church
The Mother Church is the biggest Church in Olh達o. Near this church was fought the war between the Portuguese (Olhanenses) and the French. There are still traces of this war as bullet holes on the walls of the parish church. Our Mother Church was built in 1698. It represents the effort of the men of the sea (fisherman) that built it at their expense.
Olhão’s markets These markets is where people get fresh produce such as fish, meat, fruits and vegetables. These famous markets in our region for its architecture, impresses many visitors who visit us. These buildings were built in 1912.
The nymph This figure is in wide Jo達o Serra in front of the Court of Olh達o. This monument honors the elevation of Olh達o Village Restoration which was later one fishing village. This monument was inaugurated in 1985.
Joaquim Lopes Boss Joaquim Lopes was born in 1798-1890. He was a Fisherman and Life Saving quite known in Portugal and abroad by the lives he saved at sea. When he died his bust stood in front of the Ria Formosa to "save" the next fishermen who were in danger at sea.
Caíque Bom Sucesso The Caique Bom Sucesso is the boat that took some men from Olhão to warn King João I, that it was possible for him to go back to Portugal (who was in Brazil with his family) because the people from Olhão had defeated the French. The Caique arrived at Olhão on June 16, 1808.
Monument to the Combatants of the Overseas This monument pays tribute to the soldiers who died fighting in Guinea, Angola and Mozambique. The monument was inaugurated in 2013.

• In the year 1765 is founded, by Permit Real, the Royal Brotherhood of the Holy Body of the Seafarers or commitment Maritime Olhão, in the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary. • With the creation of Commitment Olhão Maritime - a fishing association to mainly provide social assistance to them and their families - fishermen see this way their claims met. • Only after the signing of the deed, dated 1768, it initiates its construction.

João Lúcio João Lúcio was a famous poet from Olhão born in 1880 and died in 1918. His image is represented in bust on a garden with his name, near he Mother Church.
Dr. João Lúcio Chalet Joao Lucio decided to find a place where he could have spiritual isolation. So, he began the construction,in 1916, of a house near Olhão, called the Chalet de Marim, hidden in the pine forest of his Quinta de Marim, a place full of legends about an enchanted Moorish,that still today can be visited.
