RIA FORMOSA
The Ria Formosa is a marsh located in the province of Algarve in Portugal , spanning the municipalities of Loulé , Faro , Olhão , Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António . Covering an area of about 18,400 hectares along 60 kilometers from the river Ancão to the beach of Manta Rota . It is considered one of the most beautiful parks in the Algarve , with a great function and a beautiful habitat

Localization In Portugal in the Algarve covering Loulé, Faro, Olhão, Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António. Has its maximum width near the town of Faro about 6 km, and variations in their extremes, the West and the East, reach a few hundred meters.

Park symbol is the common-Cayman, rare species in
Portugal there and reproduces exclusively in these lakes Algarve. Flamingo and Eagle round wing, woodcock and kingfishers are other birds that can be observed here.
Another inhabitant of the park, almost extinct in
Europe, is the chameleon.
The botanical level, the area is also of great interest,
especially the vegetation of the dune and salt marsh areas.
ď‚— The Ria also has a huge economic importance due to
the variety of fish, seafood and shellfish, especially for OlhĂŁo, a city also known for being the capital of the Ria Formosa. Here we cultivate clams, leaving this area about 80% of the total export of the country. The Dorado, sea bass or shrimp Ria abound.
