After acquiring a company located in three buildings and on land with room for expansion, Millipore retained map-lab to review the property. Through interviews with the research and development, manufacturing, and services laboratory directors, map-lab gained a thorough understanding of the different departments’ immediate and projected needs and was able to determine strategies for future growth on the existing site.

BUILDING 6

Program Summary | manufacturing

facility planning

manufacturing The Manufacturing Laboratory at the Millipore St. Charles site is experiencing sudden growth as a result of the relocation of the Beadlyte product from the Temecula and Dundee Millipore sites. The Manufacturing Laboratory currently operates in building 6 of the Missouri Research Park. The Manufacturing Laboratory is currently working in 17,818 net square feet. It is anticipated that 8 - 10 positions will be added to the Manufacturing Laboratory in the next 6 months and that there will be steady growth thereafter. To accommodate this short term need, there are efficiencies that can be gained within the existing floor plate. For a more comprehensive explanation of the proposed short-term expansion plans refer to the Program Conclusions section of this document.

the form of a comprehensive master plan to the laboratory directors for their review and approval. After reviewing all of the building systems, maplab was able to identify deficiencies that would need to be addressed during upcoming projects. This analysis allowed Millipore to understand its full potential for future growth and provided the company with reasonable cost and schedule estimates to assist in future facility planning.
