Our agricultural products are shipped around the world. We have made tremendous investments in our downtown core. New streetscapes and parking have made our downtown more walkable. Our police force and its commitment to public safety has enabled Canby to be rated as one of the top 5 safest cities in Oregon for the last 7 years. Our modern Canby Civic Building was built in 2016 and houses our city hall offices and expanded library. Through public and private partnerships, our downtown has added a movie theater, new apartments, modern retail spaces, new restaurants, and façade improvements. You can’t talk about city services without giving special attention to Canby Police and Canby Fire District. Canby was ranked #1 by the National Council for Home Safety & Security in 2019 (Alarms.org) and ranked #13 by Safewise (Safewise.com) as the safest midsize city in Oregon. The men and women of Canby Fire provide firefighting, rescue, and ambulance service for over 54 square miles and over 30,000 citizens. Canby’s utility makeup is unique in that we have multiple local providers for services that many other cities farm out to big corporate players. For water and electricity, look no further than Canby Utility, our local customer-owned utility company since 1970. They provide top quality service for all of our water and electric needs, and are an independent subdivision of the city. Canby

Utility is looking at a couple of projects that will allow for more efficiency and expanded capacity in the future, so they are an actively growing part of our City. For telecommunications, you can find DirectLink for all your needs from phone to internet. Their local connection and involvement in the community guarantees a level of service that surpasses many of the national telecom brands. RENTALS Not everyone moving to Canby is looking to buy a house. Some may want to rent an apartment or a home within Canby, and there are many options available to those looking to rent. The apartments available run the gamut of affordability, and there should be something for everyone in the Canby rental market. Canby is changing quickly. In 1979, Duane & Bonnie Zacher purchased a smallengine repair shop in downtown Canby called the Power Shop. Welcome to Canby! The Canby School District is at the heart of our community. With a staff dedicated to excellence, we educate about 4,200 students each year. Our district strives to provide a high-quality education to all students, regardless of race, ability, or circumstances beyond their control, to help them reach their full potential. Partnerships with parents and our community help us reach those goals! Our high school on-time graduation rate is 91% – higher than the state average of 83%. Our nationally-recognized Career and Technical Education (CTE) program helps prepare students for life after high school. Students can master skills in accounting, agriculture, construction, early childhood education, graphic design, manufacturing, and marketing. Plus, with dozens of sports, activities, and enrichment programs, Canby students leave our district with strong values like cooperation, collaboration, and service. Students choose from a wide selection of opportunities which allow us to educate the whole child, fostering lifelong skills through movement and team building. CANBY PARK LIFE Canby’s local parks serve many functions for the city and its residents. There are quiet spaces for reflection, playful places for family fun, sports fields, and the perfect place to get fit. The Canby Park system has a little something for everyone. And there is much to report in terms of the last couple of years! There are a variety of parks around the city, and each of them plays a part in the larger fabric of life in Canby. Wait Park is smack dab in the middle of our downtown and traditionally plays host to many of our local events. Canby’s Independence Day Celebration, Slice of Summer Concert Series, and Movies in the Park all take advantage of the classic gazebo in the center of the park. With playground equipment for the kids and walkable to our downtown businesses, it is the perfect way to spend an afternoon with the family. sporting activities. Community Park is nestled next to the Molalla River and provides many young families a chance to take the kids for their first fishing experience. Maple Street Park provides playground equipment for the littles, but they also have facilities for many sports: pickleball (coming in 2022), baseball, softball and basketball. Legacy Park often hosts soccer and lacrosse, and also hosts another fun playground to keep even the smallest of our families happy. One of the newest parks in the City is the Logging Road Trail. This park is a 3.5 mile trail

for pedestrians, dog-walkers, and nature enthusiasts. This decommissioned logging road provides Canby residents with the perfect opportunity to walk by the river, to cross over Highway 99E without encountering traffic, and is a great spot for bird watching. When you get to the Territorial Road portion of the trail, duck into Eco Park and spend an hour playing Frisbee golf with family and friends under the canopy of towering evergreens. Whatever your park needs may be, Canby has the green space with your name on it. So get outside and enjoy everything our lovely community has to offer.

our Canby Independence Day Festival, each holiday provides our residents that chance to develop the neighborly good will that makes Canby a bright spot of community involvement in the heart of the Willamette Valley.

There’s a lot going on in our little town! Throughout the year Canby plays host to any number of concerts, sporting events, theater productions, and many more. Canby is lucky to be the home of the Clackamas County Fairgrounds and Event Center. In addition to our first-rate annual fair and rodeo, we have the facilities to handle any number of other special events from food shows, craft fairs, and garden expos. The Event Center draws lots of tourists, craftsmen, and other show goers to the area throughout the year, and they are always looking to broaden their offerings. During COVID, they’ve provided excellent family entertainment from haunted houses to the Winter Fair.

Canby Pioneer Chapel Performing Arts hosts a wealth of year-round concerts and events that bring the arts to our vibrant community. In addition, there are numerous 5k and 10k races throughout the year. The North Lake Physical Therapy Gator Grinder and the Dahlia Run are just two of these events that support local sports teams and charities while providing a first-class race experience. At the end of the summer, you can find Canby’s Big Weekend which offers events throughout Canby. The weekend features Canby’s Big Night Out, Cutsforth’s Cruise-In, the Dahlia Festival, and a host of additional complementary events. There is fun around every corner.

At Christmas, there are numerous events that provide us the chance to celebrate with neighbors, family and friends. The Light Up the Night event kicks off the season by turning on the holiday decorations in our downtown area, specifically at Wait Park. Clackamas County Fairgrounds and Event Center’s Winter Fair is a new event that grew out of the hardship of the COVID epidemic and has delighted local residents, and Christmas in the Grove is the perfect family event for getting everyone into the spirit of the season. No matter what kind of events you’re looking for, Canby provides plenty of opportunities to meet your neighbors, hang out with friends, and to experience all of the offerings of a life well-lived in a community that celebrates together.
