The Stayton Sublimity Chamber saw tremendous economic growth for the second year in a row as an influx of entrepreneurs and new small businesses found a home in Stayton and our surrounding communities. Our small Chamber partnered with an additional 27 new business members in 2018 and are on track to see similar increases again this year. As a result we have increased our staff from 1 to 1.5, and with a dedicated 8 person Board of Directors are on-track to enhance our resources and programming in-line with our strategic goals with a focus on business advocacy, enhanced communications and increased collaboration.

Your local Chamber celebrated the 73rd Annual Community Awards this year, produces the Annual Santiam SummerFest in downtown Stayton, and is the coordinator for the Employment Expo & Job Fair held annually at the Stayton High School to connect employers to job seekers and expose our area youth to the variety of career and workforce opportunities that exist within our region. We hold 50+ business to business networking events, provide over 100 relocation packets to interested families, assist over 600 visitors to our tourist information center, and provide over 35,000 referrals to local businesses every year! Santiam Hospital is an acute care, not-for-profit general hospital founded in 1953 by community leaders. Brown House Event Center

Pioneer businessman Charles Brown built this 3,500 sq. ft home in 1902. The family lived there until 1928, when it became the community’s first hospital. The Santiam Heritage Foundation acquired it in December 2001 and restored the historic house at 425 N. First Ave. It is open for tours the second Sunday of the month, 12 – 2 p.m for tours, and can be rented for private functions. 503-769-8860

A firm commitment to quality education is a vital part of any thriving community.

These kids are our future and both our public & private school systems are working to create exceptional experiences that introduce and excite kids in the classrooms. 2019-2020 will see new leadership for area schools. Chemeketa Community College recently acquired a new president, Jessica Howard, and both Stayton High School and Regis St Mary Schools hired new administrators, Susanne Stephani and Candi Hedrick respectively. In addition, the North Santiam School District continues to broaden their focus on building career pathways for students, naming Alan Kirby the new Career & Pathways Coordinator for the district. Partnering with area schools to provide access between programs and area business, encourage workforce development and expose students to various career options, the Stayton Sublimity Chamber continues to host the annual Employment Expo, assists with Mock Interviews at Stayton HS, as well as being a conduit of business resources and information for area schools.

What the North Santiam River Region is most known for is outdoor recreation. From local parks to waterfall hikes,

local golf courses to outdoor car shows, trips to Detroit lake, biking trails, and meandering drives on back country roads to view the areas Covered Bridges, there is something for every adventure seeker to enjoy.

Additionally, we have lots of fun local events to explore throughout the year including: Summer movies in the park, concert series in downtown, our own NPRA Rodeo, HarvestFest Truck & Tractor Pulls, and our family-friendly Santiam SummerFest in downtown Stayton. Local events are a great way to encounter friendly neighbors and showcase our wonderful area to out of town guests.

Church Park

Sublimity’s Church Park, between Main and Starr on Pine Street, is the site of the former St. Boniface Convent and features a veterans’ memorial, picnic shelter, children’s playground, course for disc golf, horseshoe pits and running trail.

Early Settlers Park

Early Settlers Park, located on West Main across from the Sublimity Fire Station, offers a reservable picnic shelter with sink, play structures, baseball field and tennis court.

Northslope Park

In the northeast portion of Stayton, off Fern Ridge Road at the east end of Dawn Drive, this park has children’s play areas, a half basketball court and a picnic area.

Located off Seventh Avenue and Marion Street adjoining the 55-acre Wilderness Park, Pioneer Park features play equipment, disc golf course, and the beautiful StaytonJordan Bridge. Neitling features an open grassy area and interior pathway system.

Following along the banks of the beautiful North Santiam River, this Stayton park is 55 acres of undeveloped land. Accessed by a pedestrian bridge from East Florence Street, the park provides opportunities for

Silver Falls State Park

Silver Falls State Park outside of Sublimity is a standout scenic treasure. The 9,200 acre property is the largest state park in Oregon, featuring the Trail of Ten Falls, a 7.2 mile loop considered to be a moderate hike, 25 miles of backcountry trails for mountain biking, hiking or horseback riding, South Falls Day-use area with lawns, barbecue stands, picnic shelters, tables, a playground, horseshoe pits, an off leash area for dogs, and a creek, plus campgrounds with tent sites, RV spots and cabins. In northwestern Stayton between Eagle Street and Meadowlark Drive, this neighborhood park includes a half basketball court, children’s playground, backstop for informal baseball play, benches and a paved interior pathway.

Regional Parks

Located on the corner of Third Avenue and Wildflower Drive this Stayton Park features a picnic shelter, play area with a foamy surface which lends the park its nickname (“the bouncy park”), and walking and bike trails along the wildlife sanctuary.

Local parks Fishermen’s Bend, Niagara, Minto, and Packsaddle offer fishing, wading and picnicking opportunities. Niagara acquired its name in 1890 when pioneers platted a town complete with hotel, store, homes and a tavern. The remains of a masonry dam destroyed in 1901 provide a spectacular backdrop for the river. Located 2 miles east of the City of Gates off Highway 22.

Located at 180 N 4th Ave. Fido can play off leash in this fenced, tree studded park open daily 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. There's water for thirsty dogs and benches for people to sit and watch the fun.

Westown Park

In West Stayton on Westpark Court, this park features play areas, a half-court basketball court, two picnic tables, and a drinking fountain.

Wilderness Park

Just across Pioneer Park’s Stayton-Jordan Bridge, Wilderness Park offers easy

Henline Falls

The Henline Falls Trail is an easy hike good for all skill levels near Lyons. It meanders through a Douglas-fir and Western Hemlock forest ending at Henline Falls. Access to the trailhead is off Forest Road 2209. Dogs are permitted on leash.
