SPEAKERS Sue Dyson , MA, Vet MB, PhD, DEO, FRCVS Sue Dyson qualified from the University of Cambridge in 1980. Following award of a Thouron Scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania, she completed an Internship in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery at New Bolton Centre. She then spent a year in private equine practice in Pennsylvania, before returning to Great Britain to take a position in clinical orthopaedics in the Centre for Equine Studies of the Animal Health Trust, Newmarket. Sue is currently Head of Equine Clinical Orthopaedics, running a clinical referral service for lameness and poor performance, attracting clients from all over the United Kingdom, Ireland and continental Europe. Sue was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) for a thesis entitled ‘The Differential Diagnosis of Shoulder Lameness in the Horse’ and the RCVS Diploma in Equine Orthopaedics by examination. She was awarded a PhD by the University of Helsinki and is recognised as a ‘Specialist in Equine Orthopaedics’ by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Sue is an Associate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. Sue is co-editor, with Mike Ross, of Diagnosis and Management of Lameness in the Horse and co-author of Clinical Radiology of the Horse and Equine Scintigraphy. She has published more than 220 papers in peer reviewed journals concerning lameness and diagnostic imaging and has lectured worldwide. Sue is a former President of the British Equine Veterinary Association. Sue is also a rider, and has produced horses to top national level in both eventing and show jumping, and is a British Horse Society Instructor.

Silvia Rabba, DVM, MSc, DipECVDI Silvia graduated from Torino University (Italy) in 2003. After a theoretical and practical apprenticeship at Equine Clinic of the Ecole Vétérinaire d’Alfort (France) she worked at the private practice “Clinica Veterinaria Dott. Giommi” (equine diagnostic imaging and emergency care). In 2007 she enrolled in a Residency (alternative programme) in Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Liège (Belgium) under the supervision of Dr V. Busoni and Dr F. Rossi and she visited in externship the CIRALE (France) and the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket (UK). Since 2008 she has been working as PhD student at the University of Liège (Promoter Dr V. Busoni, Co-promoter Prof. F. Audigié) and in 2010 obtained the Master of Science in Diagnostic Imaging. In 2013 she worked as Radiologist and Junior Teacher at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht (The Netherlands). In 2014 she successfully achieved the Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI). She currently works as Radiologist at the Istituto Veterinario di Novara and as a consultant for Equine Diagnostic Imaging. She is author and co-author of papers published in international peer reviewed journals. She is speaker in national and international continuing education courses and congresses in Diagnostic Imaging (Best Poster at the International Veterinary Radiology Association Meeting in 2012).
