I Am Weak, and I Need Thy Strength (Lead Me, Guide Me)
Doris Akers
1.I am weak, and I need Thy strength and power To help me over my weakest hour; Let me through the darkness Thy face to see, Lead me, O Lord, lead me.
Refrain: Lead me, guide me along the way; For if You lead me, I cannot stray; Lord, let me walk each day with Thee. Lead me, O Lord, lead me.
2. Help me tread in the paths of righteousness; Be my aid when Satan and sin oppress. I am putting all my trust in Thee, Lead me, O Lord, lead me.
Refrain: Lead me, guide me along the way; For if You lead me, I cannot stray; Lord, let me walk each day with Thee. Lead me, O Lord, lead me.
3. I am lost, if You take Your hand from me; I am blind, without Thy Light to see; Lord, just always let me Thy servant be, Lead me, O Lord, lead me.
Refrain: Lead me, guide me along the way; For if You lead me, I cannot stray; Lord, let me walk each day with Thee. Lead me, O Lord, lead me.
#450 Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine
Fanny J. Crosby/Phoebe P. Knapp1. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His spirit, washed in His blood.
Refrain This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long; This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long.
2. Perfect submission, perfectly delight, Visions of rapture now burst on my sight; Angels descending, bring from above Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
3. Perfect submission, all is at rest; I in my savior am happy and blessed, Watching and waiting, looking above, Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
Charles Wesley/Lyra Davidica1. Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia! Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia! Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia! Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia!
2. Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia! Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia! Once He died, our souls to save, Alleluia! Where’s thy victory, boasting grave? Alleluia!
3. Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia! Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia! Death in vain forbids Him rise, Alleluia! Christ hath opened paradise, Alleluia!
4. Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia! Following our exalted Head, Alleluia! Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia! Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia! Amen.
Galatians 6:1-10
New Revised Standard Version Bear One Another’s Burdens
1My friends, if anyone is detected in a transgression, you who have received the Spirit should restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness. Take care that you yourselves are not tempted. 2Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3For if those who are nothing think they are something, they deceive themselves. 4All must test their own work; then that work, rather than their neighbor’s work, will become a cause for pride. 5For all must carry their own loads. 6Those who are taught the word must share in all good things with their teacher. 7Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow. 8If you sow to your own flesh, you will reap corruption from the flesh; but if you sow to the Spirit, you will reap eternal life from the Spirit. 9So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up. 10So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.
#323 What a Friend We Have in Jesus
Joseph M. Scriven/Charles C. Converse1. What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer!
2. Have we trials and temptation? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged; Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; Take it to the Lord in prayer.
3. Are we weak and heavy laden, Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge: Take it to the Lord in prayer. Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms he’ll take and shield thee; Thou wilt find a solace there.

But Mr. Belafonte, who died this week, was more than an entertainer; his primary focus from the late 1950s until the end of his life was civil rights. He became a confidant of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and took part in the March on Washington in 1963. In the 1980s, he helped organize a cultural boycott of South Africa under apartheid to raise money to fight famine in Africa.
In all his endeavors he broke racial barriers but ultimately never saw the progress he had hoped for, writing in his autobiography that “the problems faced by most Americans of color seem as dire and entrenched as they were half a century ago.”
Harry BelafonteWhat happens when people live with their backs against the wall? That is, when society is structured in a manner that affords them few viable options to earn a living wage to care for themselves and their families. How do we judge such people considering their real lived experiences?

THE INTELLIGENCE JESUS OF
Luke 24:13–35 tells the story of an encounter the risen Jesus had with two of his disciples as they were walking to Emmaus, a village about seven miles from Jerusalem. In a teaching from this passage Pastor Marben Bland highlights the intelligence of Jesus and how we can learn to be the hands and feet of God in this world.

There’s no getting around it: $787.5 million is a lot of money.

TellPeopleAboutJesus
After Jesus shared the Gospel with the disciples on the road and in the breaking of the bread, they went and told others about Jesus. "The disciples told what had happened on the road, and how he had been made known to them in the breaking of the bread." Luke 24:35
Dan Rather, Formal CBS News Anchor
Jesus wants you to know the truth about who and what he is. As he did with the disciples on the road to Emmaus: "Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them the things about himself in all the scriptures." Luke 24:27
Charles Stanley was a solid Bible teacher with a straightforward preaching style that allowed people to stay in touch with Jesus. Giving us a greater ability to share the Gospel of Christ.
