This portfolio displays the projects worked on during the Bachelor in Architectural studies in 'Université Saint-Esprit Kaslik' (USEK), and the Laurea Magistrale of Architectural Design and History in Politecnico di Milano, Mantova Campus. The first project displays the creation of a pavilion in front of the university that communicates and connects with it. The following project was the Dinal Design studio in the Bachelor, and it represents a polytechnical school in Hazmieh, Lebanon. The third project is a collective habitation project created in the fifth design studio of the Bachelor that houses thirty-six houses in Antoura, Lebanon. The last project is a conceptual planetrium that features a spherical auditorium to project astronomical illusions and a space-like simulation. In the last part of the portfolio, the sketches and esquisses of on the spot project creation worked on in the Bachelor studies.

/pavilion in piazza d'arco
Architectural Design in Historical Context, 2019 Marc Abdo, Maria Aldera
The project consists of a pavilion in the square adjacent to the university's campus in Piazza d'Arco, Mantova. The pavilion is a form of an exposition area with two alternative classes, a student's cafetteria and meeting point, all into one entity that is connected with the university. The main concept revolves around a spine that connects the street to a staircase that holds all the circulation zones of the project, and then enters into a library added inside the building of the university. The pavilion takes a simple form of a rectangular volume in front of a cubic volume all linked with the spine of the project, the line of the staircase that holds the entire project together and connects it to the entire circulation functions of the project. The orientation of the pavilion follows its urban surroundings and sits parallel to the university and covers the entire longitudinal part of the 'Piazza'. This supports the main concept of the project which is the fast and direct connection from the street to the pavilion and then to the university.

The polytechnical school introduces various functions into a unified project; in the private part are the theoretical and practical classes, in the center lies the outdoor auditaurium and the public spaces, onto finally the dormitory on the opposite lateral side. The project is essentially formed by two main simple geometric forms, a long rectangular volume and a simple square-shaped platform, with four circular elements that provide the circulation and create beautiful circular gathering areas for the students.

The project revolves around the initial composition of the essential circulation zones of the project, the traffic flow is controlled by introducing three main circulation silots that accelerate and regulate the dense circulation flow. The circulation elements link and connect the public spaces between themselves, the theoretical classes and the practical classes situated in the private part of the school. The imposing rectangular volume connects the different circulation zones of the project. The ellipsoidal volume, represents a faster flow, a more dynamic circulation between classes.

Planetarium design This project consists of a suspended spheric auditorium in a library project. They illustrate the spaces in the project as well as the main element that is the planetarium. The project investigates geometrical exploration to create spatial fluidity.
While exploring the library one experiences the building as a spatial encounter, while the continuity of the design promotes social interaction, where one can find private spaces within public spaces, enhancing the communication between them.
As a planetarium and modern media library, this project combines modern educational spaces and retro spaceship cache throughout the spaces of the project. The project subjects the guest to a geometrical exploration to create spatial fluidity. As a planetarium and modern media library, this project combines modern educational spaces and retro spaceship cache throughout the spaces of the project.
The design uses a modular system for spatial organization; it is composed of spatial sequences that challenge the distinction between inside and outside, open and enclosed, dark and light. Elevators for automatic vertical flow attached to the circulation modules facing the staircases. This creates easily accesible circulation zones with a fluid passage between different levels of the project.
While exploring the library one experiences the building as a spatial encounter, while the continuity of the design promotes social interaction, where one can find private spaces within public spaces. Integration of circulation with form to produce isolated and continuous spaces, along with threshold conditions. Steps of design and modular evolution of the circulation modules.
The main functional part of the project, holding the various activities, consists of a primary imposing rectangular volume holding the library spaces with the admistration part of the project, also seperating the outisde world from the spheric planetarium; the heart of the project.

Embeded structure Planetarium Structure for hypertension
The challenging part of this Planetarium was the construction method of the spheric volume that contains this unique auditorium. The entity lies on four wide pillars that hold a bid steal structure mesh that forms the spheric planetarium and then given the correct tiling for space-ship like finissage with an off-white color. The entire construction is connected to the main functions Planetariumof the project with a narrow bridgeStructure linking both elements of for hypertension the project, this creates again the sensation of entering an alternate sense of space created by the spheric shaped internal space of the suspended planteraium.

. UNDERGROUND MUSEUM . The creation of this project emerged from the thrilling experience of entering underground museums into dark spaces enriched with sublime lighting techniques. The museum consists of various geomtrical forms in its composition, all of which are connected by a longitudinal volume that holds the different areas of the museum, as well as the different circulation elements within the conceptual project. Mainly, the circular volumes hold the purpose of providing the space with it's own character followed by a sense of a spiritual value, caused by the echoes of the ellipsoidal walls and the natural light.
28
.
PERSONAL HABITATION .
This project is a personal studio apartement. The main concept was the lighting of the house which is entirely provided from the outside of the house through ceiling voids and outside projectors on the walls. The main functions of the project divide the central area into the welcoming space before taking eother a staircase to the bedrooms of the first floor, of the other way to the kitchen/dining room. The house is built cliffside, swerving with the landscape and sits integrated into its surroundings. The entire project consists of two rectangular volumes juxtaposed to form the interior spaces of the house, with a beautiful staircase forming a mezanine transparent to both sides of the project.

MANUSCRIPT
MUSEUM
.
The concept was to build a museum containing old manuscripts of the famous Lebanese poet Gebran Khalil Gebran, and therefore the idea to make the museum into the ground gave more value to the purpose of this architecture. The design of the project is of brutal geometric forms to reflect the un-easy and complex writings that expressed the author’s sense of being. The humble entrance into the undergrounds of the soil embraces the journey into the museum, with the subtle entering of the natural light from the lateral slim openings in the ceiling of the museum.

AUDITORIUM
DESIGN
.
The main concept was to create an auditorium that is camouflaged with the land behaving as an underground, stone built dome with a sky opening. The dome acts as an acoustique addition to the auditorium. The spehric shape of the interior spaces provides a better collective connection to its hosts.
