Parent Info including Curriculum Nights

Page 1

Dear Parents, We are excited to welcome all our new and returning families to CDNIS for the 2012/2013 academic year. Despite the disruptive weather that prevented Open House from taking place, the school year is in progress and moving at the speed of life! Students and teachers are energized from the holidays and excited about the new adventures and challenges that lie ahead. Schools can benefit from developing positive partnerships with parents. AT CDNIS, we are fortunate to have a committed and supportive parent community who want to be involved with the educational programme. On Friday 24 August we hosted a very successful New Parent Breakfast and spoke about essential topics to support new families. In September we will begin a series of three Curriculum Night sessions. I'd like to take this opportunity to invite you to join us for your child's Curriculum Night. The core aim of Curriculum Nights is to initiate communication between the school and home. Our Curriculum Nights are designed for you to meet with your child's teachers and gain insight into the educational programmes offered at CDNIS. This year we will use Curriculum Night as the platform to profile the Lower School Blogs and communicate the written curriculum. This is also a great opportunity to meet with other parents in your child's class and the wider school community. Curriculum Nights begin at 6:30pm and are scheduled as follows: Tuesday 11 September: Single Subject & Specialist Teachers Thursday, 13 September: Grades 3, 4 5 and 6 Tuesday, 18 September: Pre Reception, Reception, Preparatory, Grades 1 & 2 Single Subject Curriculum Night: Pick up: 5:30pm - Admiralty MTR Exit A (3 buses) 5:30pm - Tai Tam (Black Gate) & Repulse Bay Rd (1 bus) 5:45pm - Sham Wan Towers & South Horizons (2 buses) Leave CDNIS:
