ACTIVTY: Plan a video lesson using a movie or music video clip. It should include:  Pre-viewing,  While-viewing  Post-viewing task TOPIC: Revision: “Routines” GRAMMAR: Simple Present 3rd person singular.

AIM: write down the routine of the man in the video.

LEVEL OF STUDENTS: Pre-intermediate.

RESOURCES: Video: Thai life insurance - “Believe in Good”

Photocopies: Ticking activity.

STRATEGY: “Observe and write” ACTIVITIES: 1. PRE-VIEWING TASK Answering questions (orally):  Do you help people?  In which ways do you help?  Do you help strangers, or only your family and friends?  Do you think it is important to help others?  Why do you help people? Do you expect something in exchange?  Who is the most generous person you know?  What does he/she do?  Reading a chart with actions: (See attachment #1) 2. WHILE-VIEWING TASK 

3. POST-VIEWING TASK  Discussing about the video: “Where do you think he is from? How old do you think he is? Does he live alone? Does he get money for helping people? For you, is he a hero? Is he famous? Do you think he wants to be famous? What does he get for helping people? Does he look tired when he helps people? How do you think he feels?”  Reading the answers and enlarging them. E.g. “Helping a woman” Who does he help? What does the woman do? etc.; or “Feeding animals” What animals? A dog at the restaurant, and some chickens at home.  Putting the actions he does in the chronological order.  Writing sentences to specify the actions.  Writing a story: “An anonymous hero”. Students have to link al the sentences they have written describing the man’s routine and add some things like the place where he lives, how he feels while helping others, etc.

4. FOLLOW UP ACTIVITY  Students have to make a video of a situation (real or fictional) in which they help other people.

They can choose to write a script and play it, or they can record a real situation. They can also decide whether to do it in pairs, groups or individually.  The video should contain some inspirational phrases; a message that motivates people in general to help others as well.  They have to create an account on YouTube and upload their videos, and then share it with their partners in the social net they prefer.
