Kingfisher Remembrance
In Kingfisher class we were focusing WW1 and what life was like in the trenches.
We learnt that the soldiers dug the trenches and then used them to live in and to protect them from the enemy. In addition to this we learnt about the football match that happened on Christmas day during the first year of WW1. They enjoyed learning about this.
We created remembrance pictures using black card which we splattered white paint on and then layered tissue paper to create the poppies. The purple poppies represent the animals that helped fight in the war.
We listened to Flanders Fields and discussed the meaning behind the different lines of the poems and then wrote our own acrostic poems.
