This sequence is called the Fibonacci sequence; named after the Mathematician who discovered it, Leonardo Fibonacci. Can you create your own Fibonacci-style sequences by choosing any starting number and then continuing it?

5 senses task Look around your house or the room you are in. You need to use your 5 senses to describe what’s there. What can you see, touch, hear, smell, taste?

#3 challenge

SCIENCE METHOD:

On a piece of paper draw a line using a pencil and ruler (about 2cm from the bottom of the paper). On the line put a dot with a felt tip pen. Next put a little water in the bottom of a glass. Hang the paper over the glass supporting it with a pencil so it just touches the water. Let’s see what happens...

RESULTS:

What colour felt tip pen did you use?

What colours did it separate into?

We all love to take photos on our phones, but how are they stored? Watch the challenge on the website and then try this task...

Create the school logo using one of these grids. Once you have created your design convert the image into 0 and 1 (as if you were a computer). Easy?? Why not try to create a simple design using the second grid. This time use colour by using the following codes: -00 White I 01 Black I 10 Yellow I 11 Blue



#5 challenge

PE

Try and complete the mini triathlon. Make a note of your scores and compare them with your classmates.

Target challenge

You will need: Socks, a bin / bowl / bucket and a timer Put the container down, then walk 3 large paces away from it. See how many pairs of socks you can throw into the container in 30 seconds. You can go and collect them if you run out of things to throw. Each hit counts as one point. Score.................................................

Sit down / Stand up challenge You will need: A chair and a timer See how many times you can sit down on the chair and stand up from it in 30 seconds. Your bottom needs to touch the seat on the chair each time to score a point. Score.................................................

Speed bounce challenge You will need: A tea towel or similar and a timer Roll the tea towel up into a long sausage shape and place it on the floor. Stand next to it – side on. How many times can you jump over the towel in 30 seconds? Each jump counts as one point. Score................................................. Now add your points up and check your total for the 3 events. Good luck! TOTAL .................................................

TECHNOLOGY Come up with an idea of a device that would help the community deal with Covid-19. This could be an item for families to use at home, to make life better and bring enjoyment, or to help people in the community to do their jobs. Think about all the problems that the virus is causing, this will help you think of an idea to solve some of these problems that people are facing. •

Write up an introduction

Name your device, what is it, why are you designing it

Draw a design

Annotate it with key features, colour it, make it visual

Get some feedback from people in your home

Make changes if feedback suggests you should

ARTS Creative

Create a weird and wonderful portrait collage using magazine images. (Look up artists Hannah Hock and Raoul Hausman for inspiration.) If you do not have magazines at home you can draw a weird and wonderful portrait instead. You can email us pictures of your collages, we can’t wait to see them! matthew.shone@gro.mmat.co.uk

ARTS Performing

Your challenge is to record a lip-sync performance of your favourite song (verse and chorus). Top Tips: • Dress up to try and look like the artist you are lip syncing too • Accessorize with homemade instruments or you could even play your own • Set the scene by decorating the background or having a special guest... Mums, Dads, Grannies! • HAVE FUN!
