A Very Warm Welcome to The Grove School & Sixth Form

Our Vision and Values A Mindset to Succeed

A Mindset to Succeed • We engage students by offering a range of quality opportunities and experiences. • We have high expectations that lead to high standards of achievement in all key stages • We engender a sense of self-worth, self-belief and personal growth. • We treat every student as an individual and do all that we can to meet their needs giving them the opportunity to thrive. • We work with parents to ensure that children not only grow academically, but also personally, socially and emotionally.

3

Academic achievement is strong and continues to excel • Sixth Form outcomes are excellent, and all students go on to study the courses of their choice at university or secure employment. • GCSE outcomes are good showing the improvements that have taken place across the school in the last 3 years. • The progress 8 figure this year is positive and current year groups are showing great progress results too. • Our destinations figures for Year 11 students are high meaning that students are well prepared for their next steps and go on to study further education, embark on apprenticeships or enter employment.

Outstanding pastoral support • Every student has a personal tutor who gets to know your child very well. They see their tutor twice a day.

• A highly experienced Head of Year oversees the progress and personal growth of the year group. • We have two highly trained Attitude to Learning Leaders who support students who face barriers to learning. • 7 dedicated, experienced Access Leaders support our students with particular educational needs. • Mrs Harrison-Blount is our Emotional Literacy Support Assistant to help students with their emotional growth. • We also employ a highly qualified School Counsellor, a Family Support Worker and two Speech and Language Therapists.

Our Year 7 students tell us

What do our parents tell us? • We just wanted to say how overjoyed (and definitely a little taken aback) we were at Rob's GCSE Results. We also wanted to take the opportunity to thank you, Grove School and Rob's teachers for all of the support he has received over the past 2 years. It is going the extra mile to support the students which makes all of the difference and Rob has certainly benefitted from the professionalism and dedication of these teachers, and the overall effort and focus of Grove School.’ • ‘I can’t tell you how much I have personally appreciated their kindness and support. For me, pastoral care and a nurturing environment is of the utmost importance in helping young people to achieve their potential and your wonderful team of people mentioned above are a credit to the ethos of your school.’ • ‘I want to say a big thank you. I am a foster carer to a child as well as a parent of a boy at Grove. For me my experience with Grove has been excellent and I have always managed to get answers or the support I have required. In this regard I will repeat my thanks to Mrs Harrison Blount and Mrs Jan Jones for their support.’
